Went to Heathcote Raceway - Viking - 16-11-2003

Just got back from my first ever drag at Heathcote Raceway. It was a private meet organized by a friends car club so there weren't very many cars and i was the only bike. I made 12 runs and my best time was 10.7 at 133mph which i felt was ok since there was a 30kph headwind and i didn't do any burnouts to warm the tyre. If they organize another meet would any of you blokes be interested in coming.

Yep 10.7 ? pretty good for the conditions

Heathcote - Viking - 17-11-2003

Thanks mate, if it wasn't for the 20m severe fishy down the strip on my 2nd run i might have done a little better. That was a so hairy that all my following launches were done pretty tamely. When another meet in arranged i'll ask em if i can post it here. I don't think that would be a problem.

I'd be interested, run there a few times over the years so far a best of 10.3 at 138mph .
I have a calender of events from Heathcote next test and tune days are on nov 30, dec 14, 27(xmas challange,a big meet) and jan 10.
Good thing you wern't running on sat,a bit windy is way better than bloody hot

Re: Heathcote - Viking - 17-11-2003

No, it's stock exept for Yoshi slip on's and BMC filter. I feel i could have went faster cause my 60 ft's were all around the 2 second mark and i've heard that a good launch is around 1.5 - 1.6 seconds. Admittedly i did take it easy on the launches and i could have pinned 1st gear sooner than i did. I'm sure nextime i'll do better.
