The Suzuki 'Stratosphere' - rocket rod 7777 - 19-10-2005

Here is suzukis new concept bike.Looks like theyve gone back to the eighties for their ideas.
Looks vauguely like a barney katana,and a 6 cylinder 1100cc engine?
I thought honda did that years ago with the CBX.
Some nice styling ideas though, just love that dash.
Where does the playstation plug into?

Phuck its the phantom!

Katana - gazza414 - 21-10-2005

I like it --- when I bought my new GSX750S Katana in late 1982 from Macklins in Miranda it cost me $3190. I'll see how I go at scanning some of the original sales glossy pics and posting --- interestingly enough Suzuki mentions wind tunnel testing and backs it up with pics .
It was a bike that most people either liked or hated purely on looks --- not much has changed with the BUS really.

oppss -- just noticed the advertised dry weight 228kgs whilst the 1100 Katana came in at 232kg's....... what do 750's weigh now???? Edited by: Gazza414 at: 21/10/05 9:49 am

Re: Katana - rocket rod 7777 - 21-10-2005

Ahhh the good old Katana days, hey Gaz.

Re: Katana - gazza414 - 21-10-2005

That one had the aftermarket lower fairing Rod and its a 1100 I believe.... they did make a 1000cc model with spoke wheels and different carbs for the Castrol 6 hr I think --- these bikes were sourced from NZ and South Africa??? memory needs some help here!!!

Re: Katana - rocket rod 7777 - 21-10-2005

Katana - Blackkat - 21-10-2005

Some off us are still living in the dream, I'll try to post some pic's of my Kat : 83 chasis and body work 90's suspension, brakes, wheels and motor , not to mention a small 60 shot.

Sure gets the young guns thinking!

Leonard.
