Topic ideas - Djpete - 29-08-2005 Someone mentioned that we could have a memorial section on the Board for our fallen friends. Personally I'm not sure... Your feedback as usual would help... Also we all have useful riding tips. There would be hundreds out there. Why don't we start a new topic and share the things we have learned. Worthwhile if it saves someone... Maybe we could dedicate the section to our fallen friends. I realise this is a very delicate subject. The last thing I want to do is offend. Pete bump - Djpete - 30-08-2005 last bumb before this is shelved due to lack of interest... Re: Topic ideas - Xhiler8r - 30-08-2005 I personally think it is a great idea but also not a great idea if you get my drift I think shelve it mate most of us dont need reminding of fallen comrads Regards Bill "Secret Mod Group Is Kicking Butt" Busa's Rule On The Rest Re: Topic ideas - pan - 30-08-2005 What about a "Riding Tips" section? It would be great to hear from you guys after you've done your Stay Upright day... "sometimes, crime does pay" Re: Topic ideas - Breharna - 30-08-2005 I think a Riding Tips section would be very subjective. What works for some, may not work for others. To create even further differences of opinion, we all have different bikes with different characteristics etc. We all ride differently. Not taking anything away from attending bike courses, I think they are an excellent idea for those who wish to attend them. Example, some of us race and what we do on the track is not what Stay Upright or other very reputable bike courses teach. Not saying that one's better than the other style. Nor am I saying just because you race you don't stop learning, shit, I've raced for over 25 years and still learning. Racing is a very aggresive sort of race craft where most bike courses teach more of a defensive riding style to survive which is reinforced by actually practicing what they teach you, not really by just reading about it. I think what we would end up with is a subject with 1000's of posts each with differences of opinions of what works for the author of the posts. I find myself, I learn and people learn more riding with other riders on ride days etc. Just my opinion that's all. Stewie Mac Re: Topic ideas - Djpete - 30-08-2005 good points Stewie. I was talking to Volvi yesterday and he was saying similar...that it could open a pandoras box... Cheers, Pete Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist? Arlo Guthrie 1969 DJ - BEAR - 30-08-2005 I think that the tragic losses we have spark a lot of response, and those who react are the ones that are probably going to learn from them. So why I think we should remember friends that have paid the ultimate price, maybe having a section dvoted to it is a bit macabre in a sense. Maybe we should have a point in the annual meeting (at Jindabine) where there's a minutes silence? Maybe a donation at the gate for families affected? Just the odd reminder might help? Yes this was done at last years rally when we had the passing away of Jules. We lit a candle and had a minutes silence for her, which was a very touching moment.I think the nsw guys also organised some stickers to wear on their bikes whilst at the rally.Just a thought. Phuck its the phantom! Re: DJ - Djpete - 30-08-2005 all great ideas... Cheers, Pete Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist?
