Sad news north of Sydney... - pan - 13-08-2005 I was told this was a red/black Hayabusa and a 750GSX. Anyone know them? News of 2 motorbike fatal accident north of Sydney A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed and another seriously injured on a highway north of Sydney. An NRMA CareFlight spokesman said a man was killed during a head-on collison on the Pacific Highway at Mount White, between Sydney and Gosford, about 12pm (AEST) today. "It is believed that one rider crossed to the other side of the road," the spokesman said. "One rider was killed in the crash. "The other rider, a 30-year-old Marrickville man, from Sydney's inner-west, is severely injured with head and possible spinal injuries." I jumped on the computer and created this post when I heard the news, without checking, though he'd posted the details already... sorry. I don't know the other Busa rider, but if he was from Marrickville too, I had seen one around a couple of times. He had a 4 into 1 exhaust, loved to accelerate quickly and often drove on one wheel... "sometimes, crime does pay" Re: Sad news north of Sydney... - Fox - 14-08-2005 I'm afraid that was my brother David (Fenda on this board) and not the guy in the above post. A few people here including Richard have met Dave and some have ridden with him. I had sold my RSV Aprilia (I had a Busa before that) and have bought a '98 Moto Guzzi Cali. This was our first ride together for 6 months. We had just been to Mt White for a coffee, with our friends Keith (Fireblade), Adrian (Blackbird) and Andre (Ducati 74 . We were told there was radar down the road so we were just tootling along at 60kph. I was riding behind him when there was this massive explosion of colour and noise. A guy on a CBR600RR (a new bike) came aound a blind corner fast on on the wrong side of the road. It was a head-on collision and my brother was thrown into the armco fence and the Busa was wedged under it. He pretty well died instantly of massive head injuries. Ironic that he was riding the fastest bike on the planet doing 60 and gets nalied by an idiot on the wrong side of the road. I don't know how he is going byt apprently was airlfted out with critical injuries. The hardest part for me was telling his sons his wife and our mother. What are the chances of getting nalied by another bike!! That's it for me and the Old Road and probably for motorcycling in general. There is no point when it doesn't matter how safe you ride or how slow and you still get taken out. He loved his Busa and was telling me over coffee that he had racked up 70,000k on it. Charlie. No matter whats written, it all seems to be fake and inadequete. Charlie, Would it be possible to attend the funeral? or would it be family only?
