Question on airbox - Volvi - 13-07-2005

I have a modified airbox on my '99 and am considering swapping it over with an un-modified 03/04 airbox. So question is are they identical or are the later models somewhat different to the original '99ers?

Re: Question on airbox - rocket rod 7777 - 14-07-2005

Im interested to know why you want to change it back,Volvi??? Phuck its the phantom!

Re: Question on airbox - Beestroyer - 14-07-2005

Theres too much power for him. He's going grey you know!

Re: Question on airbox - Volvi - 14-07-2005

ok good question Rod. From what I understand is the airbox mod helps more on higher speeds and somewhat negative on lower speeds (to 50km/h). My bike was serviced last by Luke at Hones and busababy complimented his work by making his bike tuned sweetly especially with Remus pipes. But he said with airbox mod he couldnt do the same, namely expect a less smooth throttle response on lower speeds with mod and cans. The flap on unmodified boxs supposedly assist bike in lower normal speeds. I have the BMC race filter which makes breathing plenty so mod may be bit of overkill. And when 75% of riding time is within city limits @ 60 perhaps no mod is better. I still havent made up my mind if I want to do it, but just considering whether to do it and hence my original question. Do I make any sense?

Question on airbox - Blackkat - 17-07-2005

I've always wondered why people stuff around with airbox mods, power commanders ,tre's etc when the standard beast will remove your licence with ease .

I understand if your racing etc.

Not having a go at anyone, but I've always wondered?

Leonard.

Re: set of black rearsets - GDYUP - 19-07-2005

I'd have to ask Rocket first Kawa?

I only ride straight roads and I'm never in a hurry. Now why would I want rear sets??? (Thanks for the offer Kawa) Put them in the Buy/Sell. They are the goods. But I've just nevr been interested in them. I'm old, frail and my nerves are shot......... (And corners scare me)

Now. The Airbox mod. Great mod. Just fugen do it guys, it works. (I'm told)

Cheers,

P.S. Now where's that huge pic of my bike????????

Air box - gazza414 - 21-07-2005

What do you think you'll do Volvi?

Re: Air box - Volvi - 22-07-2005

woha a comment on topic? what is this board coming too? well gazza Id be inclined to go back to stock but the option i had is now no longer due to sale of bike...not just wheel changeover. But Im not fussed bike still goes great. If another opportunity may arise guess I will consider it again. Thx gazza for your input on and off board.

Re: Air box - simmo - 22-07-2005

Volvi please don't tell us you have sold the mighty Copper / Silver Cheers Robert

Re: Air box - Volvi - 23-07-2005

no simmo the silver with the stock box was sold. im still hanging onto my copper, i dont think anything will dislodge me from it. strange after 35 yrs of bikes to want to hold onto one now 6 years old already. I must be getting old ie been there done that and now settled on one i like.
