Market value of bike - m8ee - 17-05-2006

My bike is about to be bought off me by work so it will now be a company vehicle. I need to find out the current market value to keep the accountant happy. Where would you go to find out?

Re: Market value of bike - BUSGO - 17-05-2006

m8ee,
Be careful with Redbook those quoted values are way below the current market in most cases and are designed for dealers to make a profit.

The current average value of a 99 is between 10,500 and 13,000. not the quoted average that is much lower.
Of course there are lower than this but they are not looked after.

For your 2005 bike, I would reckon market value would be about 15,500 depending on miles and condition of course but I am sure they are fine.

If you do a quick search on bikesales.com for Hayabusa, you will find the true market value. There are about 13 bikes for sale.

thanx Volvi....... you da man, and don't let Mundine tell you any different

Re: Market value of bike - m8ee - 17-05-2006

Thanks Busgo, it doesn't really matter a whole lot as I am buying it off myself so to speak, just keeping the bean-counters happy.

Re: Market value of bike - gazza414 - 17-05-2006

Busa owners think there bikes are worth more than they are. Asking price isnt selling price.
wait another few more months and if the 2007 bike is different the resale will fall again.
Interesting how you can lease a motorbike thru work. Where I work --no motorbikes nor utes nor commercial vehicles Edited by: Gazza414 at: 17/5/06 12:50 pm

Re:resale - Maj750t - 17-05-2006

Depends what the 07 model is Gazza!
if its new and unpopular the old one will be a keeper .

Re: Re:resale - BUSGO - 17-05-2006

Regardless, the old ones are KEEPERS anyway.
I might get a six to put alongside it if they are as good or better.

Just a bit off beat here - gazza414 - 17-05-2006

So what companies do you lease your bikes thru?

Re: Just a bit off beat here - demeester - 18-05-2006

Not leased. Company owns it.
