What price on this? Or where's better? - Tony Nitrous - 22-04-2006 Mate looked at this today.... From what I could tell... Made 11/00 16,500k's, Light drop on right side (light scuff to can and mirror) but fairing seemed clean. Possible repair? Missing the black infill panel that fits flat under headlamp on inside of fairing. Was told the Full Yoshi system Pops/Bangs/Flames on overrun (No commander fitted or PAIR valve mod done) After trade in it made "HORRIBLE noise" and had a cam bearing replaced. Seat hump butchered to keep grab rail. Cheap after market screen. Listed at $12,990 but that went to $13,800 ("or make me an offer") when we talked ride-away on-road price. Whats your opinion ? Been told of several 10 / 11 / $12,000 bikes in the past but they seem rare now about S/E Queensland or are rough / Starship milage. What you guys think ? Thanks, Tony.J. Re: What price on this? Or where's better? - spamanglenn - 22-04-2006 best to get 03 or newer.Better clutch ,fuel pump, cam chain adjuster,32 bit computer etc. Glenn the Spa Man Re: What price on this? Or where's better? - Tony Nitrous - 22-04-2006 I knew there were some upgrades between Early/Late modes but wasnt 100% on what they were. Would I be starting up a Battle Zone if I asked whether the later model is THAT much better than an Early one, Do Early one's have real problems ? Tony.J. Edited by: Tony Nitrous at: 23/4/06 7:30 am Re: Sales - Maj750t - 23-04-2006 Cam bearings are not replacable! your been fed bullshit, Cam caps and head are bored as 1 , if the cam caps could be sourced they would have to be line bored , any inaccuracy in boring would put the cams beyond adjustable range. Cam bearings could only be damaged thru contaminated oil, lack of oil or an incompetent adjusting valve clearances. the oil issues would most likely affect many other area's of the engine. Re: Sales - Tony Nitrous - 23-04-2006 THANKS ! We were being fed info by a Salesman, not the Mechanic but either way, it sounds like this might be one to walk away from. Cheers, Tony.J. Re: Sales - rev 01 - 23-04-2006 There are better bikes than that around & cheaper. Keep looking . Can bearing - gazza414 - 23-04-2006 Greg, the ball race behind the sprocket... maybe , however I doubt it very much unless it has been removed incorrectly without proper tooling. They are a NTN brand special with groove cut for 1/2 circlip. I wonder why the plastic section is missing Ask - gazza414 - 23-04-2006 ask the salesman to have the fairings removed Tony, you'll soon see if any repairs have been done. The Yoshi system would appear to be a Ti system from the pic with a genuine tri oval -- expensive system. I would of said that there are not many aspects of the Busa's design that has been up graded other than the cam chain adjuster over the years. There have been many changes although they have not yielded an improvement per se'. Re: Ask - Maj750t - 23-04-2006 Your right Garry , there usually so trouble free i forgot Re: Ask - AstroBusa - 23-04-2006 p083.ezboard.com/faustralianhayabusaclubfrm7.showMessage?topicID=592.topic Dan.... Tony.... you guys should talk. The older I get, the better I was. Regards.... Rob sales - Tony Nitrous - 23-04-2006 For me to buy a 2nd Busa, it would need to be 10 / $11k's but im not to fussed with bodywork, as I have plans for it. Will check tomorrow what Mate can stretch to, he was hoping to haggle on the original 12,990 bike. Guess its back to "You Get What You Pay For." No stress, I can wait for the right bike. Tony.J. |
