RID-5 unit Hi Volvi, My apologies for the delay, I’ve just been informed by Kenma Agencies that the order could not be fully supplied due to lack of stock. This has only just come to my attention, the estimated arrival is another week. I’ll keep you posted. Can you please inform your members. RID-5 unit Why am I not suprised at your email Luce? Maybe it has something to do with Kenma Agencies from start to finish. Maybe Scorpio USA ought to be told all from start to finish when this sorry saga is over? Not Happy Luce. ----------------------------------------------------------- Re: scorpio anti hyjack unit - fasterfaster1 - 19-07-2006 I have an account with Kenma and deal with them on a weekly basis ................. never had a problem and great to deal with There is not where the problem is ........... and they also don't dictate as to what price the retailers sell at ......... so I;m sure from that you can work out from this where the problem was and is and can assure there is good margin in these items Have a Hijack unit here in stock also for Scorpio FF1 Edited by: fasterfaster1 at: 19/7/06 11:22 am Re: scorpio anti hyjack unit - glen66 - 19-07-2006 Kenma Agencies must be filthy rich. They don't seem to give a stuff about poor exposure. Old matey potaty doesn't help. No email, phone call or messenger pidgeon. I doubt I'll go through either of these guys to get anything again. Craptacular. Re: scorpio anti hyjack unit - Volvi - 19-07-2006 Hi Volvi, I’ve received confirmation from kenma re rid-5, there unpacking to dispatch tomorrow. We should see them Friday. Regards Luce Re: scorpio anti hyjack unit - Volvi - 21-07-2006 I got my unit this morning, hopefully others will too. Ok the question is which wire to cut into? The pamphlet suggests 4 options; #1 Wire connected between the ignition module and engine stop button. #2 Ground wire from ignition module. #3 Wire connected between the ignition module and coil. #4 Wire that goes to the ignition fuse in fuse box. and alarm instruction book gives 6 options, as above plus; (#1) Positive lead wire on fuel pump. (#2) Positive lead wire on fuel injection system. Pete (pitstop) suggested the posive wire to fuel pump however with a relay added. I dont have a relay ermm dare I say it nor even know what one would look like, no doubt Dick Smith have all sorts. So am holding off from installing unit till theres a concensus which wire may be best to cut into. Please add your input. Edited by: Volvi at: 21/7/06 1:03 pm Re: scorpio anti hyjack unit - RuffRed - 21-07-2006 Volvi - have just installed the hijack unit to the fuel pump as pete suggested without the extra relay as i was under the impression that the little black box is actually a relay itself. Anyway it works a treat - if you don't cut any length off the wires you can stick the afforementioned box snugly in a corner under the pilly seat without taking up any useful space. Instead of using the connectors provided - I connected the wires and then heat shrunk them for a neater and more secure job. One tip tho - when u start the bike and activate the hijack unit - you cant turn the alarm off until you turn the ignition off. It took a few earsplitting seconds to work that on out. Good luck - Ruffy |
