Cheesecake Camchain and K&N Filter - Max - 25-10-2004

The Bus has had an increasingly loud chain noise coming from the motor over the last couple of weeks. The last day I rode her to work the noise was that loud I worried about further damage to the motor so took it easy there and back.
The local (Canberra) Action guys vied for the right to fix (or f***) the problem. They gave me a loaner VTR1000, complete with Ventura rack to take my gear to work and back.
While they are doing the camchain I am thinking of having them put a K&N air filter in dynoing and remapping the motor to see what she is making.
Question - does the K&N air filter do anything for the bus other than increase induction noise and increase fuel consumption? She has a full yoshi 4 into 1 running a TRS can.

Cheers
