two cans or one - Diablo - 03-08-2005

I am debating about fitting a new set of carbon fiber cans (probably Yoshi's or Rhemus) to my 99 model. However, I have been offered a full Yoshi 4 into 1, for a reasonable price. I prefer the balanced look of the two cans, but, is there much to be gained in the 4 into 1 setup. Anyone had any experience with 4 into 1's?

4 into 1's offer a little more power in general and a loss of weight which is prob more noticeable. Std system weighs quite a bit when all said and done. Good luck with the mods

Re: A bit - BUSGO - 03-08-2005

I vote for the balance of two cans.
I have ridden busa's with both and reckon the two pipes sound better and the bike runs a lot smoother.
If you are into long rides two is better, open up the breathing with a high flow air filter to match.
My 2c.

Two Gun? Firing blanks I reckon... - GDYUP - 03-08-2005

Go the 4 into 1 Yoshi....

It'll pull your arms outa their sockets at around 7500 revs and up......................

As for balanced? Balance this guys

Some people believe that putting a 4 into 1 on a 99 model may compromise the strength of the rear subframe. May be worth thinking about if you often carry a pillion or weight on the back...

I just went to Staintune cans (2 of 'em) and very happy with them...

Must admit I like the twin setup too, just looks balanced and has symmetry.

You could always do an """evil """modification Edited by: Gazza414 at: 3/8/05 11:57 pm

Take it all off - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 04-08-2005

Put on your 4 into 1 then take off your muffler and put

on a torque pipe and then see your 1/4 mile time's tumble

works for me Edited by: Fat Busa Racing 1347 at: 4/8/05 12:26 am

I thought I was???

The man asked about the best option. I gave it. THE END.

P.S. How did you go with the balancing?

Cheers,

stick with the two guns - Diablo - 04-08-2005

Thanks guys, however, it sounds like it's down to personal preference. I think I'll stick with the twin carbons. I'm trying to pick up a set of stainless mid pipes at the moment, depends on the final price. As for the cans themselves, I had a set of rhemus cans on the TLR and they went well.

Mid Pipes - gazza414 - 04-08-2005

Chrome mid pipes wont fit the 99, 00 or 01 models my friend..... as the header section is different.

Re: Mid Pipes - Diablo - 04-08-2005

That was giong to be my next question Gazza.

I found a pair of stainless mid pipes off a 2002 for $70, will they fit a 99?
