Tassie member - Middy - 20-01-2016 Hi all I'm about to pull the trigger on a 99 model. Full yoshi system, heated grips, higher screen and well looked after with good history. Anything I need to look at in particular? Had an early CBR rr a fair while ago but have mainly owned adventure bikes or dirt bikes since then. Last ride was a well sorted XR650R RE: Tassie member - Batfink - 20-01-2016 Welcome mate, you north or south? only thing you need to watch for is the animalness off the damn thing LOL my first busa was a 01 then I got a 99 and the difference was spectacular. My current 13 is more than the 01 but less anial than the 99. Pumps seem to be something to watch for and for her age injectors and coils too RE: Tassie member - Middy - 20-01-2016 RE: Tassie member - Shordy - 20-01-2016 RE: Tassie member - Kendo - 22-01-2016 G'day Middy, Welcome mate. RE: Tassie member - BUSGO - 23-01-2016 Of all the models the 99 has the most issues to be aware of. 1. The fuel system is a nightmare. 2. The regulator must be checked for overheating at the connections. 3. The original rear frame under the pillion seat was soft alloy and can crack. It may have been replaced by a steel one since new. 4. Over the bikes life, there are numerous mods that owners may have done that will affect the bike in various ways. Such as vacuum line mods, air box mods, ECU mods. And the list goes on. Buyer beware! Sent from my SM-G360G using Tapatalk |
