Re Calendar rule - DjPete - 18-09-2015 I would like to propose that the rule of submitted pics not being allowed to be edited be relaxed. I think this would make a big difference to the amount of pics that are submitted and also give the calendar a more professional look. Of course they must be member's pics but if a pic has been color saturated or a tree or something removed from a background to make it look better I don't think this is a bad thing. My 2 cents.. RE: Re Calendar rule - Batfink - 18-09-2015 I did relax that rule Pete.. it is now just major editing to make a big change to bike that isn't wanted plus anyone can ask if their pic is okay Quote:8. Minimal photo shopping, must be original RE: Re Calendar rule - DjPete - 18-09-2015 ripper. wasn't aware of the change. Thanks. RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 18-09-2015 one other rule ,if your picture wins that month you cant enter the next month as some people are a little more popular then others and winning it month after month isnt fair. RE: Re Calendar rule - Batfink - 18-09-2015 Not sure about that one rev.. it's hard enough to get people motivated to submit pictures to start with... we have had several months with 7/8 submissions You cannot, however, submit the same picture again once it won LOL RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 18-09-2015 cmon pan wins it every 2nd month so its pans calander now , say i won it for 6 months everyone already hates me ,that would drive the purest nutz lol RE: Re Calendar rule - ROD - 19-09-2015 (18-09-2015, 09:46pm)revhead Wrote: cmon pan wins it every 2nd month so its pans calander now , say i won it for 6 months everyone already hates me ,that would drive the purest nutz lol That's a good point if there is to many pics of the same bike you would have less sales of the calendar RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 19-09-2015 if you win in January ,for instance you cant enter February ,but your eligible march im only pointing out the obvious im over this bs RE: Re Calendar rule - kev11e - 19-09-2015 C'mon If someone makes the effort why not allow the submissions. My opinion is you cannot complain if you haven't had a go yourself... RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 19-09-2015 im not complaining as i enter as well there for i would expect not to be aloud to win month after month as in all fairness everyone needs a fair go. this is the whole reason no one comes here, bc change isnt looked upon its frowned upon RE: Re Calendar rule - Batfink - 19-09-2015 I am a bit unsure of your point revhead. One minute your saying it would piss everyone off if 1 member had 6months of their bike in the calendar but then you say allow them every 2nd month (which would be the same presumable winning picture anyway?). They still get 6 pictures in the calendar! BUT we have begun excluding on top of the limitation rules already. I want more involvement, we have 1300 listed forum members, a heap of FAcebook members and a few off shoot Facebook groups too. And still each month we struggle to get even 10 pictures! How about instead of reducing the chance to submit YOU, like me, go out and try to get more to be involved? RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 19-09-2015 it makes it fair an gives everyone more chances of winning RE: Re Calendar rule - Batfink - 20-09-2015 I have asked, yelled, pleaded and nearly begged on Facebook. I also post monthly reminders and promote the calendar regularly on Facebook. It comes down to a simple thing Pete.... The person that puts in the picture that active members vote as the best wins that month in the calendar! You want more diversity then attract more active forum users AND keep them active. Trust me it's harder than you realise to keep motivating people to keep submitting and that why I am reluctant to add another restrictive, or exclusion rule. Everyone is welcome to chime in on this..... RE: Re Calendar rule - revhead - 20-09-2015 over it! RE: Re Calendar rule - Batfink - 21-09-2015 seeing revhead has thrown up his skirt over this I would be pleased to hear form others about the topic of excluding winners? Whats your views, ideas?? Unlike what was said this forum is VERY open to change.. hell last year was the FIRST calendar which was put together buy myself with help form DjPete... hundreds of hours collecting, correlating, sorting, editing, dealing with printers to get something out. If we didn;t have change we would have no calendar! As it grows things will change... but just because you offer an idea that might not work now doesn;t means it's not going to work in the future. With revhead's idea I am sure if we had a constant submission of 15+ each month then yes there could be reasons for excluding active members efforts based on previous successes? But right now we are battling to get 10 submissions cause a lot of FB users just can't be bothered logging on here and being involved. I saddens me but will not reduce my resolve to getting a Calendar up each year even if it just full of the Angry Bee LOL |
