RE: Forum for the Future - Lesabre1 - 04-07-2015

Good 1 Tony, another forum i'm a member of ( largescaledownunder) i do contribute to, it is not compulsory but you

do get a good feeling from it and it's non profit, there are giveaways and membership is encouraged, the membership

numbers are similar to AHC, there is also a shoutbox (the same reason i pushed for it here) that is a good place to

catch up, and the topics are not only R/C related, i can't believe that there are only a couple using it here, C'mon

people this is AUSTRALIA !! lol. A lot of gear that i had (R/C related) i gave away on the proviso that they made

a donation to the forum, i would be quite happy to do the same here, anyway, good luck Tony.

RE: Forum for the Future - Camel - 06-07-2015

I think forums such as this one will become more and more a repository of technical information from which Facebook browsers will graze through without contributing. That's coming from a Facebook grazer! (grazier?)

RE: Forum for the Future - kev11e - 06-07-2015

Let's see...a grazier (the cocky) is the bloke who owns the cattle who graze (or are the grazers)...clear as mud?
But seeing as I do not use Facebook, and I know of a couple of others who do not, where does that leave us poor buggers?
Who is gunna deposit the knowledge and technical information into the repository?

Rather than portrays, I'd say that it imitates social activity. Superficial crap almost entirely that condemns a whole generation to near moron status!

Like the tide, forums will ebb and flow. While I love a leg pull now and then, the only real value is when actual information of value is shared or it serves as a practical gathering place for rides and bigger schemes like the South West Domination and some other minor rides :-)

RE: Forum for the Future - Batfink - 06-07-2015

I am liking the open input guys but I was hoping the focus here would be more on ideas to help the forum than to rehash old and known ideals?

@Camel ... So how could we entice you to be more an active member than grazier?

@kev11e ... Can you think of more interactive ways to keep us ole forum people better engaged?

@Belzybo ... "Imitates" is a better representative than what I used but can you think of something that brings back the ebb and flow from what feels like an extinction?

I am sure we all see what's happening but I was hoping that this thread would be more about ideas of change rather than finger pointing and resignation. Let's work together to join forces, build bridges between the virtual groups and create a great ALL involved Australian Hayabusa Appreciation Community!

RE: Forum for the Future - kev11e - 07-07-2015

Batty, have you thought about running for PM?
:-)

RE: Forum for the Future - Belzybob - 08-07-2015

A couple of other forums I use are going through the ebb situation at the moment. I'm sure somebody could do a thesis on the 'life cycle of an internet forum' and relate that to the depth and breadth of the scope of the forum.

A forum needs new blood on a continual basis, but the downside is that those who have been on a forum for a while then get a 'seen that all before' scenario.

Basing a forum on one model of one brand, brings the risk that there will be a challenge to going.

RE: Forum for the Future - DjPete - 08-07-2015

I think the Boobs thread should be more prominent.

:-)

RE: Forum for the Future - Batfink - 08-07-2015

The boobs page on the new site nearly made my wife throw up LOL

RE: Forum for the Future - kev11e - 08-07-2015

Who did you post a photo of?

RE: Forum for the Future - DjPete - 08-07-2015

RE: Forum for the Future - Pockets - 09-07-2015

Boobs? There's boobs?
Where are these boobs that are spoken of?

RE: Forum for the Future - Batfink - 09-07-2015

You need to explore things more Pockets....

Under the banner at the top you will see webste, click on it, then on the right of the page selection bar (again at the top) you will see three horizontal lines. Click on then then select more and finally select boobs... Then don't blame me for the small puddle of vomit in your mouth lol

Thought Pete it does remind me of Miss Greece 2005?

Scary Some things cannot be unseen

There should be a warning!!!!!!!
