tapping sound? - David Walmsley - 01-01-2015 Just seeing if anyone has experienced the same thing. On cold start up when riding as soon as i pull the clutch lever in im getting a tapping sound and feel from the clutch housing and sound stops when the bike comes to a stop but as the bike gets warmer it goes away. Any input would be greatly appreciated. RE: tapping sound? - Maj - 02-01-2015 There can be a problem with the spring retainers on the clutch, 08 needed checking later ones not so much, but this has been an occasional issue right from 99 and worth a look any time you get a noise from that area RE: tapping sound? - David Walmsley - 02-01-2015 (02-01-2015, 05:32am)Maj Wrote: There can be a problem with the spring retainers on the clutch, 08 needed checking later ones not so much, but this has been an occasional issue right from 99 and worth a look any time you get a noise from that area I will be looking in to that today. Thanks Maj. RE: tapping sound? - cyndemgum - 02-01-2015 RE: tapping sound? - BikerBoy - 02-01-2015 As above. My '10 had the same issue. Easy fix all described above. Just as a note when tightening; They only require around 10Nm torque. RE: tapping sound? - Tony Nitrous - 02-01-2015 Don't think it was ever an official recall in AU but my 07 built and registered K8 B-Kings were pulled out and checked anyway... upload a picture RE: tapping sound? - David Walmsley - 02-01-2015 |
