Not starting after fuel pump clean out - RaZ - 26-12-2014 RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - RaZ - 26-12-2014 think I have worked it out. We can hear the injectors ticking away and opening. The one little spit of fuel is leading us to thinking the pump is pumping fuel - but not getting the pressure it needs. One thing I didn't mention above was... the retainer that holds back the paper filter with the spring has an O-Ring seal. The one in it was stuffed and I just turfed it thinking it was just to force the fuel through the filters... but with out the O-Ring I don't think it able to pressure the fuel line with enough pressure to spray the fuel past the injectors. So I'll get a new O-Ring when I can - rebuild the pump and rig it all up again and see how I go :) RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - Maj - 27-12-2014 did you do anything with the regulator RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - RaZ - 27-12-2014 Just pulled it and hit it with an air gun then refitted it to the pump. RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - Aussie Steve - 27-12-2014 Perhaps you would have been better just using the air gun to squirt air through it....hahaha! RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - RaZ - 27-12-2014 Aussie Steve... the pump was seriously full of dust from the NT I reckon. Thats where the bikes been. I have errr... made a seal fit and the things purrrrin...and freakin pulls my head off now! ;) RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - ohzone - 27-12-2014 (27-12-2014, 09:40am)Maj Wrote: did you do anything with the regulator Your question almost hints at something Maj, is there something you suspect with the regulator, perhaps too high a pressure? (jammed) RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - Maj - 28-12-2014 more o ring leak or something jammed under the seat to cause low pressure like Raz was experiancing sounds good now though :) RE: Not starting after fuel pump clean out - RaZ - 29-12-2014 So.. took the 99 out yesterday for a test ride down to my old mans. Had an issue on the way there where she drop revs and power after a WOT over take... but came back and no other issue. Until I went to leave. Got 100m down the road and she died. Turns out the fuel lines were getting kinked with heat soak. Yay! So after take to the main feed with a knife to shorten the line I realised it was the return line. Ffs! Got her going and got home. So today I sourced a smaller fuel filter and decided to reuse the return line hose from Suzuki with the metal braid and ill also get some heat sheilding amd wrap the hose in it. The main line will have the new smaller filter that has an L Shape in it. And Ill shorten that main line so there is enough for the tank stand and thats it. That should fix it all then. And so far so good. Hoping the fuel filters flow rate isnt an issue. Ill test ride her as soon as I can. |
