BATTY'S BUSA BOOTY - Batfink - 31-01-2014

not sure where to start posting this as it is going to be a long term project that might have a possibility of future sales... but as it is mainly in my head right now and steals ideas off several other places I guess it doesn't hurt to share LOL

The first thing about the busa is it's unique lines and curves... unlike other bikes it has barely deviated from what was/is a winning design. Lets face it we all know the body shape was designed to help the bike grab the title off Honda. Other bikes have gone from curves to sharp edges and back again and again.. the busa remained firm (or is that I was firm cause it was so curved?? Boobies4 )
Anyway, the busa body has been a thing of contention, you either hate it or love it.. or fall in love with it over time Pi_thumbsup I have ALWAYS loved it...

For this reason I am going to spend this winter (and a booty load of cash) to develop our own single axel Hayabusa trailer...

Scary Idiot2 Knuppel2

Is what most of you are right now thinking.. "how dare this fool turn a hyper sports bike into a road train"...

I would agree instantly if I was again 21, was rich as GOD and had the resources to pick and choose me different rides. Some of us can pick there rides and I congratulate them as I want to be in there shoes in a few years LOL

As by Busa is the only bike I will own singularly for a while I need to make it as versatile as possible, and while not the fastest (more closer to the slowest) rider here I always want to be able to enjoy the bike in every way while also looking at major miles touring....

I saw this about 8 months ago and it got me intrigued.. forgive me if I am wrong but is that a Boulevard?

The idea of this type of thing has been rolling around in my head for 20 years with the rest of the loose marbles but I can never say I thought of it first LOL. I love the idea of it matching the bike in most ways. If connected right it shouldn't change trajectories for the rider as it should not change the imprint of the bike except for weight. And we finally have a kick ass boot like a car LOL

OKAY.. so now my idea..

I am going to use the busa fuel tank as the shape for the trailer, but reversed so that the narrow "leg" portion of the tank is facing forward to the bike. I know once I have basic shapes modeled I can swap gen I and gen II shapes...

recently Bikerboy has offered to help not with initial prototype but over mapping of design. Thanks Paul you are a great guy.

So that's my winter project...... WHATS YOURS???

BTW.. please keep it quiet, fail or success, I like to think it's my baby until I raise it as my own or adopt it out LOL

I can say I have already designed the hitching system, but only for a hollow rear axel.. right now not caring about other axels as that is the Busa system

Interesting idea TonyClap
Im sure that there would be a market among the guys that like to long haul their Busa's.Biker
Being a late model Gen2 Rider My 10cents worth is the late arse end, cos its got the intergrated indicators. So if you get that far I'd be interested.Pi_thumbsup

Good luck with the whole project.

Haven't really thought about rear light setup yet LOL was going to see if I could make a smaller version of front guard for wheel, again facing opposite direction.

As soon as I get my hands on a large enough block of polystyrene I will start moulding a full sized model...

Well.... With a change in busa ownership to a gen 2 this project will now be also changed to suit a the gen 2 shape.
