gen 1 radiators - revhead - 09-11-2013 ive been having dramas with my gen 1 if it idles in traffic in hot weather it tends to have a little weee! the gauge shows the temp is only up on to half ,but it still gave me the shits, 1st i changed the radiator cap this did help sort of, so i bought a new radiator, from ebay,it came from china in suzuki packaging,$89 free post! i removed my old radiator ,held it up in the light ,and could only see through 70% of the cooling fins fitted new radiator 2x litres of tecalloy gold ,and toppped up with water, took bike for a ride temp sat just under half in traffic and as it idled away the temp actually fell to between half and 1/4 on the gauge,so i would recommend,if you have a gen 1 and are running the old original radiator ,piss it off and fit a new one, RE: gen 1 radiators - Kendo - 09-11-2013 Like OEM packaging? as in possibly one of the vendors Suzuki source from? Nice find regardless, certainly sounds like you got your $89 worth. Could you post or PM me the name of the ebay seller or a link.Very interested in that. RE: gen 1 radiators - revhead - 09-11-2013 ive spent 10 minutes searching my feed back for the guys name ,couldnt find it ,for the life of me ,heres another one for 99bucks http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUZUKI-GSXR1300-HAYABUSA-99-07-00-01-02-03-Bottom-Low-OEM-Repalcement-RADIATOR-/281147422487?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4175b13717&_uhb=1 RE: gen 1 radiators - Aussie Steve - 10-11-2013 I had to fit a new rad to my 06...got one from China via ebay...around 90 delivered from memory. The only thing to watch out for is tightening the mounts...the Chinese ones are very thin metal and I almost twisted one of them off with over zealous wrenching. |
