What rpm should i change at ? (stock busa drag racing) - Harry hyper - 14-10-2013

i have a 2012 stock busa , nothing done at all . i had a run a little while ago and got a 10.218 . as i`m not that experienced with drag racing and a lot going on (for me) i changed gear more by feel than concerntrating on the tacho . i did have a gopro on the tank and i was changing around 10500/10750 rpm . the question i ask is , does anyone have a dyno of a stock busa and let me know if i should maybe change a bit earlier to be in the sweet spot ? if you know what i mean ??? i would love to get the thing dyno`d myself and get a few things done to her , but as one is currently building a house at the moment the bucks are a little stretched . any feedback would be greatly appreciated ?

10.2 sounds like you're launching well and shifting just right. Keep practicing those 60 foot times, get them below 1.7 and you'll be well into the 9's

Axe i`m keen if your going to book the track , let me know . i find it hard to find the time on Wednesdays and i need a heap of practice . i noticed you mentioned CLUTCH !!! , what do stock clutch`s go like ??? I've wondered about my clutch and i try not to let it ride too much . I've always preferred let my clutch out as far as possible before the gas goes on . but how do they hold up ???

the std clutch has a type of back torque limiter... personally i think its rubbish, some maybe have different opinions, but getting rite of that i think gives a much better and more direct feel.

clutch out before really gassing it, is perfect. that way you preserve it..

hopefully jan/feb, we'll get the track for a day just to play....

:)
