what do you carry when touring? - storm - 01-02-2013 what do you carry when you tour? i have 3 tshirts 5 underwear shorts 4 pairs of socks wetweather gear jetboil or compact stove coffee bags baked beans/spagheti/dehydrated food/water/cheesybite vegemite and crackers tyre repair kit/co2 bottles/ flashlight/combat knife mapbook. goretex bivybag/memoryfoammat,sleping bag/stool/tent toilet kit. 5ltrs jerrycan hat varies a little offroad. i carry a machete. prettycompact setup i wear full leathers and armour all the time RE: what do you carry when touring? - Ward P - 01-02-2013 my wallet - and as little as possible RE: what do you carry when touring? - bazman - 01-02-2013 WoW....that's some pack job there, storm!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() But be very careful with those soft-panniers, mate! A bit too much weight in them, hit a few [inevitable] bumps along the way.....and your looking at scuffed paint at very best.....and possible cracks to your tail piece in a worse case!! RE: what do you carry when touring? - Rev004 - 01-02-2013 Gee Storm I'll have to show this post to some of my mates as they reckon I'm the Mobile Targe when I travel over east on the Bike.. Last Trip and bare in mine I was away for 3 mths did 30,000 Ks on some of the best roads on the east coast from WA to Queensland and then down the East Coast to catch up with another 7 guys from WA at Phillip Island in 97 then followed the coast back around to Sth Aus up to the Barossa Valley of Course and then back Home. One hell of a trip which me a my mate did and loved every minute of it. Tent. Sleeping bag with Blow Up Mattress and Pump. Stool BBQ Plate Gas Burner Gas Light (The Gas Burner & Light are the compact ones that hikers etc Carry) Puncher repair Gear Speed Tape Maglite Spare Fuses bulbs etc never know what you need on the Nullabor Clothes - Jeans, Sneakers, Thongs for the feet, underware, sock, T Shirts, Shorts, Towel you get the idea). Both Types of Riding Gear (Leather and Wet Weather Gear) Gearsack Bag & Panniers. Tank Bag with all the Maps and Cameras etc. And Must Admit the bike handled suprisingly well next, I'll have to find a photo I'm sure I've got a photo somewhere. Looks like you had some fun.. U carried a Barbie plate? Lol.that's spectacular. RE: what do you carry when touring? - RYDRZ - 03-02-2013 I carry a tube of silver seal-radiator hole repair Clutch lever switch Tyre repair & 90deg' valve atachment Chain lube Tools to strip & repair bike,foldable allen keys Multi plyers,& a letherman Spare low beam globe Various bolts,clips & plastic push pins Disc lock Cable ties - cable ties - cable ties For me Medication's ;) Booz,sumtimes Change of clothes -bare minimum Clear & tinted helmet lense,+sunnies aroguard -I hate mozzies & flies Lollies, ;) Wet riding gear & thermals if im zippin through winter Coffee sachels Maps of where im going or maps of the general state area im Riding in And a few dollars , |
