Rookie who's looking forward to Hayabusa - Fernando - 29-08-2012
Hey I'm from Canberra, still on P for almost another year. Is that a good or not to step up straight to a hayabusa when I get my full license?

Thanks! The problem is that I'm really a tiny guy, 170cm weighs 50kg.

I'm 180 cm 75 kg & Get by but the 100 kg plus blokes throw em around a lot easier.

I'm 75Kg and 6ft. For me:
Cons:
Heavy - low speed and reversing is...humiliating.
You must have a lot of discipline.
Longer than average wheelbase so a little tougher to corner than some flicky bikes.
Iconic notoriety can sometimes mean you labelled an inexperienced poser.
Pros:
Colossal power everywhere - any gear, any RPM.
Screaming sportsbike top end and chunky fat torque blasts.
Comfortable for very long rides and tours.
Iconic, unique & beautiful looks.
Big bore reliability and lifespan.
Plenty of strong fun to be had without wringing it's neck.
It sounds amazing.
Huge aftermarket options.

No one can answer that.
My ex-Mrs took her test on a GS500, last of the open licences,
bought her self anSV650, a month after getting on a bike rode
both my Busa and B-King.
I ride with others who after having a few years experience I still
wouldnt let NEAR a Busa! They struggle with ER5/GS500's etc.
If you have any sort of ability, the Busa is actualy very easy to
ride. Very stable and not fussy about gears or rev's.

Its like all bikes treat it with respect and you will be okay they are a very forgiving bike and are easy to ride but they are like a sleeping dog. First time i hit 6500rpm it scared the s##t outta me now i just use the 6500prm to get the front up. Take your time get uesed to riding it and go from there. They are a love affair.

I love the comfort, handling and power of my gen2, but alas you WILL all eat me in the twisties because i'm 6ft 1 and weight 145kg OOPS

50kg? Oh, you'll have some fun trying to keep the front wheel on the ground! A mate of mine weighing 56kg cracked open the throttle on my bus at 110km/h in 6th gear, the front wheel lifted about 6 or 7 inches off the deck as he disappeared down the M5! There I was on his 600 Pantah watching my bike get smaller & smaller in the distance.
As Grumpy said though, treat her with some respect, and you'll never look back. Easy to ride & very forgiving, but over 8,000rpm, all hell breaks loose & it's inner predator comes out. I for one will never sell my bus.... and that's no bullshit. I've been through the whole mortgage stress crap, sold my house before the bank did, but I've still got my big red bus.
