think i broke my busa - BlackLilly - 27-05-2012

Hi

I have a noise with my bike, its like a fuel pump noise but higher pitched, had it in to mechanics for 4 days they gave her a good service checked fuel pump and everything as that's what they thought it might have been also but couldn't find the problem, over $700 later bike is riding terrific, nothing wrong but this noise, they told me i would just have to live with it, it annoys me and i don't want to live with it,Confused
i think it is not fuel at all, i think i have done something to the exhaust as the day it started i pretty badly banged the bottom of the bike into a cement gutter going into a driveway, soon after that it started, i know nothing about fixing my own bike and am a little angry that these guys didn't look to find the problem I put it in there for, any suggestions would be great i hate to see my poor little bike not herself Frown

May have damaged the cat. Any marks on the exhaust? Paul.

Is the cat dented? Might have cracked/shattered the cat. Might have cracked a weld on the exhaust and the high pitched noise is a strangled whistle of escaping exhaust gas.

Yeh that was my thinking, didn't want to comment further as removing the tailpipes, smashing the platinum with a hammer and screwdriver, starting the bike and blowing the smashed catalytic converters out the arse is not the politically correct fix. Should the noise be produced by a damged cat that would be the easiest and cheapest fix. Paul.
