DRIVE Chain - RYDRZ - 16-05-2012

I just bought my next chain,
Ponderin on just how many K's I've Gotten out of it,

Mmm 40,000klm's ,

How strange is that ,as my busa is at 130,000k's mark ...
And the average chain life for my busa is
Around the 30k - to - 40k mark

Whats your average rear drive chain life span
And be real,
Do u ride in the rain, hale, snow, winter & summer
As I have and done...
But I can say I have been known to be lazy

,re: clean & lubin ,but I do keep on top of keepin

chain tension spot on

RE: DRIVE Chain - Skidmarx - 16-05-2012

RE: DRIVE Chain - RYDRZ - 16-05-2012

What brand of chain also ?

What chain lube do u use ?

As I use castrol chain lube & sumtimes motul lube

As from stock suzuki ,I've been using

D.I.D 530 GOLD VM X-RING @ 112 link/stock front & sprockets

,my sprockets have been in good order but my chain is st r e e c h ed
Beyond any adjustment space on swingarm

RE: DRIVE Chain - ROD - 17-05-2012

I have got Ten years out of my Chain and still looks New Lol2

RE: DRIVE Chain - Greeny_SA - 17-05-2012

Cleaning the chain is more Important than Lubing it . If you keep it over-lubed it Just attracts Dirt Which turns into a grinding paste . Only need a Tiny bit of lube, Some say None is Better, but won't help longevity.

Hey greeny how ya going bud

Do u use kero n a rag to wipe
ya chain clean of road grime

,i do ..

Hey rod,is that the chain that u use to lock up your bike

,
Ya gotta ride it more

RE: DRIVE Chain - Landmine - 17-05-2012

Commuter all weather 42K original chain. Not great on cleaning prefer to run dry to clean then re lube. If it looks dry when I fill up give it a coating of Silkolene chain lube. On second can so don,t use much. Mostly commuting so not the hardest riding but keeps every thing working. Was wondering how long it will last also.

RE: DRIVE Chain - 1300hayabusa - 18-05-2012

Kero destroys the o rings and kills the factory lube inside.
