New member, Canberra - Dave_Harry - 30-03-2012

Gday everyone. Been an owner now for 2 years and feel that I am ready to tour. This is my first forum so am unsure of what to do. Unemployed at the moment with a little cash aside so am looking for rides in and around Canberra (but have to be smart as I cannot afford fines). Did a solo to Melbourne and back, but found the highway boring. Hayabusa ticked the touring catagory as I did it in 2 days and had a slightly tired butt.

p.s
Did the person who clipped the diesel in the overtake survive?

G'day Dave,

Welcome to the AHC mate!!

Great to have ya here, Dave......and we've got a fair few members based in the Canberra and ACT area that meet up & ride regularly (....most will chime in very soon to say g'day, I'm sure!)

A name is a name, Dave.....but with a last name like that, you've juz gotta ask yourself one question.....

Onya Dave and welcome mate. We have a few Canberra members, though Heidi is more a Sydney member these days as she spends most of her ntime fanging around Easytern Creek than here in Canberra! lol.\
EWatch the Riding Not Talking thread for the next Canberra Social Sips and come along to Zeffer's in Dickson to meet some of the other canberra crew! Look forward to meeting you.

RE: New member, Canberra - Dave_Harry - 31-03-2012

Please provide further info on Tilly's/Hayabusa meeting? Tilly's just around the corner and a haunt for some of the Capital's players so would be keen. I have a current 'no alchohol' rule that is standing me in good sted whilst on 2 wheels so if there are beers I will be 4wheels. Coffee and a blatt I will be in it with 2.

As I said in my post I am enjoying a period of no work. This said, please no sympathy. I have a full freezer, my wife is earning, my daughter is at school and I have a Hayabusa in the garage - which is low cost as there is no drinking and riding.

Any sympathy should be expressed in an e-mail with a time and a date of when I can follow the big end of a Busa in a ride which doesn't interfere with my daughter/duties. which means any day m-f between 9;30-2:30 and/or all day Thursday as Dad picks her up.

This also shows that I cannot write small, everything turns into a novel. I have jsut come home from a few beers after golf, which is why I am in front of the computer rather than on the bike. Saftey first.

PLEASE e-mail any rides to "dharma.harry@bigpond.com" (My daughters e-mail) or text me on 0439450318. No reasonable offers refused.

I am converted, I have faith. If there is a Hayabusa, there must be a god. Do not pray in church, that is what straight flat roads and tight corners are for.Wm

This coming THursday night sounds good. I have dayshifts so wont be a latey for me.

6.30pm at Zeffer's in Dickson. Bring your bike and don't drink Harry, we would love to oggle your ride! Park on the kerb near the table enclosure.

Always up to you whether you ride and don't dink or drink and ride, I have 1 beer when I'm on the bike. That's my limit and my decision. Busdriver and I are both shift workers so do rides during the week.

Look forward to seeing you fella.

All welcome.

Back when I lived in the berra I always liked the back of cotter run. Coppins crossing to cotter and vice versa has a nice long straight bit in the middle for a high speed run (Watch for the roo's) only seen coppers out there once.

That's where I was on the weekend. Also went out to Tharwa and the tracking station. Bit slippery in the rain with brand new tyres.
