First time to the Drags - Any advice ? - Raphel - 18-03-2012
Met a mate at the pub last night who's running an old '92 V-Max , he talked me into taking my Bike to Ruapuna Park next Sat for a friendly day at the strip . Been riding 'Busa's for a little while but I've never taken one down the 1/4 mile.
I'm not going to try and break any records but set up tips with tyre pressures and anything else would be helpful , launching advice etc.
My 'Busa's a Gen 2 and pretty much standard fare sans the pipes, I'm running R22's and a K@N filter.
Normal air temp at this time of year is around 15 to 21C if that helps.

Do what your used too.
I dont even bother with tyre preasures or burnouts.
As Greg say's, Traffic light starts, and when you've got a
few run's in start to turn it up a bit more each time.
I run regular 10.3's with 40psi tyres and no burnouts.
Work on your ability before the bikes.

Ok so I'll just rock up and ride the boogers out of it , not sure that I'll do the low 10's though.
Might drop the tyre pressure down to the 20psi's so I got a little more meat on the metal .

Yeah, dropping the rear's probabley a good idea.
I do suffer from spin off the line but I kine to
race in full street trim. Exactly the same set up
as chasing sportsbikes around the mountains.
Im sure I could shave a bit off if I did a few mods.
When I first ran my Busa,
everyone told me, unless your running consistant times,
and in the low 10's, your the bit that needs more work.

Lay on the tank to hold the front down & head for the sand trap at the end but dont forget to stop before you hit it
