GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - RYDRZ - 01-01-2012 HI all I plan on buying a gen 2,as i read on this forum, usa & other suzuki forums, fault, error fi, bobby pins being put into wiring harnesses. well i dont need the hassle. option 1) send it in to flashed'edited, which I need anyway stock sux'yehh. option 2) compact diagnostic service efi tools. so I found this and if anyone can find better ,not just for me I think if it's affordable, easy to use & some of us can use it to help out others then thats all the best for everyone. where:Mechanic's Tools Warehouse, usa canOBD2 Diagnostic tool EQUUS brand/ product info inn3100/$98.oo,without postage, there're 99 just on this website,so I need help un finding, best value for money, ease of service , a can do without any headaches, im sure there thousands of different types,im no expert so some help from everyone, search research the web, please, .looking forward to seeing some results. corbin RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - Maj - 01-01-2012 http://www.mechanicstoolswarehouse.com/CanOBD2-Diagnostic-Tool-P126538.aspx may read your ford or holden but its not Suzuki bike savvy compare the connector with this http://www.boostbysmith.com/gen2.pdf the black and white connectors pictured on page 6 are for communication Suzuki SDS tool uses same you would be better off buying a dealer mode switch on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUZUKI-Dealer-Mode-Switch-03-GSXR-M109R-M90-Hayabusa-/370494221434?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item56432d2c7a , or bridging the terminals with the bobbypin or stripped ends on a short piece of electrical wire if you just want it to read fault codes. RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - RYDRZ - 01-01-2012 yeh thanks maj, not only to read fault codes but fix n trouble shoot for when strange n unforseen gremlins start, bobypins n wire are just to tell a dealer what you've found out, I want to fix n set it to stay fast, n steady, so i may have happy rides for a long time. the late Ron 'BALLS did just that for my gen1 busa only had one serious problem 6months after buying my gen 1/k1 RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - Fester - 01-01-2012 RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - RYDRZ - 01-01-2012 hey wow maj , I have had a look at boostbysmith.com very impressive , full flashing kit that sounds like a multi-purpose kit allrounder RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - Maj - 02-01-2012 Festers link and the boostbysmith stuff probably use the same technology , a program able to read the data stream that side of it doesn't do much more than a bobbypin, but its on screen in a well presented layout . http://www.boostbysmith.com/Photos/gen2%20gauge%20data.JPG it is the flashing that the best bit for me, and the logging, but that side of things is not for everyone its easy to damage a motor everyone who thinks stoich is the perfect a/f ratio and wants to tune to it should not be allowed to buy this , RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - RYDRZ - 02-01-2012 Yeh I hear u. AFR - is not what everyone thinks, As i watched my harley on a dyno being tuned 'properly ' So now Ive had a look at the english version Put out by healtech & usa ,they use different software But now i understand they're both refered to as OBD tools,( On board diagnostic ) Just by searching both of these websites I've learnt more about the excessive unwanted Sensor crap suzuki has fitted. So instead of having a link to a 'windows/p3/Laptop pc- to do the job i got to thinking Couldn't there be somthing for The Andriod & Iphone users in an application On you phone, had a looky but they're not Compatible with either these OBD systems There's this app called TORQUE in5 different Versions,a little bit bullsh*t for me though. Im heading to a pc,to copy from the Ecueditor.com website now RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - TempOzzy - 02-01-2012 I use TORQUE on an Android phone via an ELM327 Bluetooth adapter to monitor my ecu in an 07 WRX and find it works quite well. Certainly worth the $20 I spent on adapter and App. Would be good if there was an equivalent adapter available for the Busa. RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - Axe - 02-01-2012 I've got an OBD tool from healtec.... a little pricy, but you can reset things like the ISC valve ect... or for what you want, you can just use a paper clip on the Diagnostic plug to bring the fault code up on the dash. Same as the dealer mode switch....... then look the fault code up in the workshop Manuel.... RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - RYDRZ - 02-01-2012 Maj & I have re-named paper clip as the Bobbypin Mod ,it just sounds right as It is RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - GRUNTMAX - 02-01-2012 RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - Axe - 02-01-2012 RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - GRUNTMAX - 02-01-2012 Surely there's more than 1 way to skin a cat ? ![]() http://www.australian-hayabusa-club.com/MyBB/showthread.php?tid=18228 ![]() ![]() RE: GEN 2 EFI DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS - fasterfaster - 02-01-2012 |
