Making Hayabusa more comfortable for touring. - Raybe - 06-10-2011
Hello.
I have recently bought a 2011 hayabusa and i am in the process of setting it up for touring by making it more comfortable for long distance riding.
Can anyone help with advising me on some great product that work and make a big difference. I am looking at seats, windscreen, helibars and anything else that will make the bike more comfortable.

Raybe.Sounds like you've just about looked at everything you need.
Depending on your height, some also change the footpegs - buell ones can give you a little more room, Oxford heated grips if it's the cold season ? and of course luggage options.

Then get yourself down to Tathra in December for our annual Busa bash, and meet all the gang!

Lowering foot pegs sounds like a good idea, i am 6' 3' so i am finding i am getting to much pressure on my wrists. Lifting the handle bars also sounds like a good option. Sounds like that bash could be a lot of fun and a great way to meet other hayabusa riders.

It is an ABM comfort kit, mate.

Just put a handle bar riser on my 09 busa, got it from the states and it lifts the bars up by 19mm which makes a lot of diference on a long ride.
All it is is a spacer which mounts under the existing handler bar plate, then uses longer bolts so you can still use the stock bars plus no need to alter anything else.
Got the spacer from soupys performance store in the US.
You can also use it as a lowering kit for the bike as well.

Hi ya Raybe, I've done some 14 hr stints in the saddle and the bike was stock. Was too bad or sore just takes a day to get used to it with the wrists. For the Tathra trip in December I have added throttlemiester cruise control so my right hand can get a rest. Another big help was the tank bag so I can rest my chest on it and give both wrists a rest. Hope this helps.

ABM / renthal bar's here too.
Had an 02 and 04 Busa together.
Always had bad shoulders and arm ache after the first 600k's.
Traded one in on a B-King, much better.
Put the ABM yolk and bar's on the other, much better.

Probably the 1st thing you should do to make the bike more comfortable is replace the standard exhaust system - defininately be a lot more comfortable on the eyes!
