Gen II rear seat cowl with grab rail??? - Bluethunder - 08-08-2011 Hi Guys, I want to fit the rear seat cowl with the grab rail still on the bike. it will look great, Im thinking of using the dremel tool but something does not seem right. will the depth of the inner base fit or will it hit the bolts of the grab rail? Has any one done it on the Gen II bike. Thanks RE: Gen II rear seat cowl with grab rail??? - RyanG - 08-08-2011 Even just the bolts hit if they are installed when the grab rail is removed. Seems to be alot of work for nothin, just me though :) RE: Gen II rear seat cowl with grab rail??? - creamy - 08-08-2011 I just did mine today. It was a bit fiddley. I unbolted the hump from it's base and drilled a few holes with a step drill to clear the front two bolts of the grab rail and trimed the base to clear the rear ones. I also replaced the two rear bolts that hold the hump together with counter sunk screws. Even then I had to take a little bit off the grab rail. I also changed the rear grab rail bolts with a couple with smaller heads. I would have used a couple of counter sunk bolts if I had some. Anyhow once I could get the base to secure properly I reassembled the hump, put on some masking tape and trimed the cut outs. Like I said fiddley. RE: Gen II rear seat cowl with grab rail??? - Shifu - 09-08-2011 Done mine along time ago. Countersink screws are the go. Have you modified the side stand yet? Mate, it is an oil filter. As Greeny already advertised it is a mother of all good filters. There is a thread somwhere in technical section on my fitment work. So far done only about 2000km with it and the oil is a clean as it was the day I pour it in. RE: Gen II rear seat cowl with grab rail??? - Homer - 04-03-2014 I've always liked the fact that the cowl is a great way of saying "eff off and get your own ride, only room for one I'm afraid"..... A grab rail might be seen as an encouragement.....
