B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 04-08-2011 Out for a ride, pulled up, neutral, turned the bike off (via le red switch) for about 1 minute (left the key in, turned to on)... Started it back up and walked it backing out of the drive way, in neutral and BOOM... whole bike shut down... no lights, no motor, nothing... key out, back in, nothing, not even the flashing key security light is blinking... Ummm... Any ideas?? Battery? RE: B-King just died...!! - BEAU - 04-08-2011 Fuses for a starters... RE: B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 04-08-2011 Hmmm yeah, possibly the main fuse... it's a big 30A one, so guess that could be it... [edit: nope] RE: B-King just died...!! - BEAU - 04-08-2011 Have you rewired anything or maybe have wires pinching at the steering head? RE: B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 04-08-2011 I rewired my tail tidy... but that was months ago... and I would've thought, not killed power to the entire bike... *shrugs*... I've pulled the battery and will take it down for testing I guess... RE: B-King just died...!! - RyanG - 04-08-2011 If you have a multi meter just test it your self.... I guess if the battery had some sort of major failure it would be the reason why the bike shows no lights, but I would have thought it would have kept running after you had started it.... Maybe the connector or connections to the ignition switch or something?? RE: B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 04-08-2011 Errrrrrrmmm... ok...I disconnected the battery... and just put it back in... and full lights.... bike starts... RE: B-King just died...!! - RyanG - 04-08-2011 It'll be your computer then.... It's like a PC, turn it off and turn it on again will fix most problems.... Lol. Get the dealer to run diagnostics on it and check for any stored error codes. RE: B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 04-08-2011 (04-08-2011, 09:08pm)RyanG Wrote: It'll be your computer then.... Right... well I've pulled the battery anyway, so hopefully the ECU holds on to the error codes... not to mention they are an hour away, so hopefully this issue doesn't come back, randomly when I'm riding... Tested the battery on the multimeter and all good 12.78 RE: B-King just died...!! - 1300hayabusa - 05-08-2011 (04-08-2011, 09:23pm)DisPlaCeD Wrote:(04-08-2011, 09:08pm)RyanG Wrote: It'll be your computer then.... I would use that hour away to test the bike and let them run a test on it when you get there so at least you can be sure it is just the battery......much better option than getting jammed while you're on a ride and stuck in butt fcuk nowhere!!! RE: B-King just died...!! - ROD - 05-08-2011 Have a good look at your earth from bike to battery RE: B-King just died...!! - piperjon - 05-08-2011 Hi, I feel there is a bad contact on the battery. I found that the contact you push under the clamp bolt had this white stuff because I had the same problem with my Busa. Went out and bought a new battery but to find that it wasn't the battery it was corrosion between the wire lead and the battery post. Mine you undo the screw and pull out the lead and that was where it was. Yesterday I send her the email about my busa which was suppose to have the recalls do as I was told by Brisbane motor cycles but it had not been do at all and also the ing/switch recall about the wiring had not been do too. So i have the busa booked in to get fix here. I hate lies been told. Thanks for your help Rod. RE: B-King just died...!! - DisPlaCeD - 06-08-2011 Well the terminals (the small rectangle nut on the battery) looked fair rusted when I pulled them... So, maybe that was it, I took to them with a scourer and will take it for a run to get petrol, see what happens... @piperjon... shoot ROD a PM, instead of attempting a hijack -Cheers. Yeah I did an ECU diagnostic and it came up C00... So, yeah... |
