So the question is . . . so when will the 'busa get traction control?
The BMW got it, now the new ZX10 has it, next must surely be the Gixxer 1000 to keep up, and then it it would make sense to add it to the 'busa.

GEN3??????

The next Busa will change a bit I think. After the bullet proof motor, accel factor, that's the reason I bought the Genll-its a bike YOU have to ride. Without any of the new gizmos. I hope the next is just a better steering handling acceling bike like the Genll was from Genl.

Bob,boring is what the busa is in stock standard unless you spend SOME..........money on upgrading it and realistically apart from the engine/upgrade the busa does not have much going for it.Im also wondering if you have ridden a bike with the same gizmos as the beemer has????if not than try before you dismiss what is clearly a good safety feature and a better controlled ride, this is the road future bikes should be on especially with all the increased power they are coming out with.

i agree with alot of the safety measures 1300Hayabusa this traction control seems a good idea to help get the power to the road but with BMW an KAWA getting 200HP out of thier bikes when is suzuki (the busa) going to come up with more power surely if they can get 200 out of litre bikes they should be able to squeeze 230 out of a busa then traction control will really be needed and smiles from ear to ear which the busa gives me now. Busa have an old fashion traction control. It is called skillfull use of the wrist (no funny comments here please) Lol3 Lol2 Lol2
Seriously though, unlike driving a car, riding a bike still requires a skill and this should be cultivated. Possibly increasing safety could justify it but it should have an "off" switch.

My little sports car has some of those features, and there's nothing worse than traction control kicking in when I'm trying to get the back out. Fortunately I can switch if off. From what I read about the BM and others is that the 'aids' are more there to make a brutal power delivery (due to the quest to get more power) controllable, rather than make it a safer bike.

RE: Is there any difference from a K8 to a K11 (2011) - BUSGO - 25-04-2011

The K8 busa was one of the first bikes to introduce a form of traction control in the A-B-C mode selector. A great innovation for people new to the power but not much more than a novelty to regular riders except in wet and slippery conditions to cut back on power to the wheel.
Any form of traction control on the busa will reduce the fun factor of spinning up the wheels that I'm sure most of us enjoy regularly. I have traction control in my car and it pisses me off when it cuts in.
Just My Opinion.

RE: Is there any difference from a K8 to a K11 (2011) - Ward P - 25-04-2011

The new traction control is more to get the maximum power to the ground on acceleration out of the corners. The bikes without it just wont be able to keep up.

Personally, I love to slide the back out, but when it's on my terms. I would love to be able to put the maximum power down out of the corners every time, under every condition.

The trouble is OCCASIONALLY when I hoon, I can get a little heavy on the throttle, and on different roads with different surfaces the back can step out quickly and unexpectedly, when it happens accidentally it can catch me off guard and I have been guilty(once or twice) of chopping the throttle before I've even realised it. Even though I know it's the worst thing to do. I'm sure everyone is guilty of having done this!

I would love to have the bike sense that it has let go, stop acceleration and hold the throttle for an instant allowing some slide, but stopping me from backing off. This would give me an instant to realise and regain control.

And of course . . . there would need to an off switch for when you want to play.

You can keep your ABS and linked brakes though! Braking is a conscious decision - as opposed to the right hand which isn't always Confused
