front guard/fender - Skidmarx - 27-03-2011 hi guys, just done a bit of a search, and it apears the 05-08 gixxer 1000 front guard will bolt strait onto the gen2, will it also bolt on to the gen1?? any help greatly appreciated :) ash RE: front guard/fender - BLACKZOOK - 27-03-2011 I got a carbon gixxer front guard for my 04 turbo from Kawasuki and it came with spacers to make it fit so I assume that apart from the width of mounts it should be the same. ![]() RE: front guard/fender - Legend - 27-03-2011 (27-03-2011, 09:32pm)Skidmarx Wrote: hi guys, just done a bit of a search, and it apears the 05-08 gixxer 1000 front guard will bolt strait onto the gen2, will it also bolt on to the gen1?? Nope! Leonard. RE: front guard/fender - Skidmarx - 27-03-2011 well so far this is the one im looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270716436338&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT i have to be a bit of a tight ass at the moment, misses is busting my balls coz i am still not back at work RE: front guard/fender - BLACKZOOK - 27-03-2011 I must be wrong it looks totally different to mine, the rear mount is similar but the hole centres on the front look different. RE: front guard/fender - Legend - 27-03-2011 You can make virtually anything fit anything, with a bit of work or, as Bruce said an adaptor. Question is, how much effort are you willing to go thru? Leonard. RE: front guard/fender - Skidmarx - 27-03-2011 well, i have to replace all plastic on the bike, and honestly think the factory style of the front guard is ugly as sin, if its going to be a drama ill just buy a carbon busa one and modify it to look better, but would rather buy one pre-made that looks good and "almost" fits, i might try and google for a few pics of both, and see how different the mounting is thanks for the help and photos guys :) RE: front guard/fender - BLACKZOOK - 27-03-2011 Do a search on .org - someone has almost always tried everything on a busa once before. RE: front guard/fender - pan - 28-03-2011 Here's the 08 Gixxer front guard that fits the Gen 2 (but not the Gen 1) (note: for those that don't know, my bike has a complete 08 gixxer front end) ![]() RE: front guard/fender - Skidmarx - 28-03-2011 thats exactly what im chassing pan, sexy as shit!!! wonder if i can just get one and glue it on lol, i might try and find a realy cheap trashed one, and see if i can mod it to suit, before buying a nice one RE: front guard/fender - pan - 28-03-2011 You could always just fit a complete gixxer front end on your bike... radial brakes, better forks AND sexy fender!! (hee hee hee) RE: front guard/fender - Skidmarx - 28-03-2011 dang, misses almost fisted me over telling her the fix will cost $1500, that is probly wat a good gixxer front is worth by itself lol RE: front guard/fender - pan - 28-03-2011 eBay is your friend... Think mine was about US$500 including shipping... |
