Help Needed to Recreate Clutch Master - steventh - 15-03-2011 Folks, Any one in NSW a fitter/ own a metal lathe/ or know of a shop that will do a very small job. My other bike's (Ducati) hydraulic clutch system is not holding pressure so the clutch starts to engage while the lever is held in. Ducati do not have a refurb kit for their controls (I have searched the web, contacted Brembo etc) I have been told by their suppliers that it is cheaper to buy a new master cylinder than replace the worn 30 cent seal (did I mention the std clutch master is cylinder is only $450). So I want to "recreate" the piston and use 0-rings. The piston is a simple design - 15mm diameter and maybe 40mm long with an indent in one end and hole for the return spring in the other. Any home machinist should easily be able to do this. Why am I asking here and not the Ducati forums - the Busa forum is helpful and many people actually work on their bikes. So can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance Steventh PS if anyone is a hydraulics engineer and can help with o-ring specs etc that would be a bonus. RE: Help Needed to Recreate Clutch Master - Zoro - 15-03-2011 Steventh, have you tried taking it to a "Brakemart" or any of those brake guys? They may be able replace the seal for you from another type of automotive cylinder. Just a thought... |
