Help please. PCIII problems. - Tito - 10-10-2010
I fitted my new yoshi TRS slip ons, and a BMC filter a few weeks ago. I also fitted a Power Commander III. I am planning to get it dyno tuned when funds allow, but in the mean time have tried various downloaded maps, including the one for yoshi slip ons and with/without after market filter, but the bike does not run well at all, particularly around 4,000 rpm. The best I can get it to run is on the map for an after market filter only, and it's still not great.
Anyone got any ideas? It would be greatly appreciated.

Block off your PAIR system and derestrict your airbox.

have you tried it without the pc111, might be better to not use it until you can afford a dyno

Apart from keep on downloading and trying different maps ................. without any A/F readings it's purely hit n miss. Downloaded fuel maps are always hit n miss ................. your just lucky if you get one thats some where near right.

Even if you have it dyno tuned later, you will NEED to remove the PAIR system. DynoJet say it must be done if using their PC modules.

I'm assuming if I do a search, i'll find out what the PAIR mod is, but can someone tell me how long it takes?

You don't have to remove it ....................... as long as it's blocked whilst taking A/F readings. Block of the pipe that goes to the rear right hand bottom of airbox. Creates backfiring on decel mainly as unburnt fuel burns in exhaust apart, from that it's effect on performance is zero.

That's what I thought. The sound at least on my previous V-Twin on overrun was delicious.

no problem, but you should be able to just unplug the pc111 and reconnect the standard fitting without removing it, probably have to revert back to the standard filter though, but give it a try first. When you get it dynoed they should be able to block off the pairs for you.

I had some old pc3 maps somewhere but its for a Gen 2 so its no good for you
You can get some Pair vale block off plates on e bay to stop the back firing for about $50 or less delivered then you can take off all the pair systen & clean up all the crap at the front of the motor & hoses back to the air box
