Zero Gravity With Steak Knives - amcmo - 14-09-2010

I won't 'hijack' another vendor's posts, however need to clear the air about recent posts. I will not get into any discussion, here, just make a statement and leave it at that.

AMC are official Zero Gravity distributors.

We recently placed a limited time special price targeted to compete with a special from another distributor for another brand of screen. This was seen elsewhere as an attack on another member who has also listed Zero Gravity product. It WAS NOT.

We did recently query ZG shipping to one or two other companies in Australia at dealer price. Obviously as a distributor, our preference is for dealers in our market to purchase from us. ZG advised that the particular dealer had been purchasing for some time and that there was no intent to withdraw direct sales, a position we accepted and have made no further representation, other than to say that we would offer them an excellent price and that it would be that other company's decision as to where they purchased.

In response to a post from that other company enquiring about volume pricing, we offered that company a price we believe to be less than the landed cost of any dealer purchasing direct from ZG. We further clarified the purpose of our limited time special price.

We also advised that, should that company choose to purchase from us, we would cease advertising that particular product on the forum as we do have a policy of not directly competing with our dealers.

Our regular prices are always advertised above those we expect dealers to offer. (remember the reference to a $175 price from other suppliers in an earlier post, that was us being referred to and the higher than dealer price we advertise. We have recently lowered our advertised price to approx $150 in line with the prices resulting from our current purchase volumes and improved exchange rates.

We do reserve the right to offer specials to rider groups where we do not see any of our dealers advertising.

We are NOT a large company throwing it's weight around, as distributors go, we are mid range. Like any distributor, paying to advertise a product in a local market, working to promote that line and holding broad stocks, we obviously prefer dealers to be referred back to us. All our other suppliers do just that.

As a result of seeing the tone of today's posts, I have made a decision to withdraw all Zero Gravity offers on this forum and leave that market to the other company.

The other company can choose to sell at whatever price they wish, and to puschase direct from ZG or through us (at what we currently believe to be a lower cost). Their decision.

'nuff said.

You have made some very bold and public comments in your post ................. would you like me to correct more of them ?

This is incorrect by the way >>>>>>>>>> The other company can choose to sell at whatever price they wish, and to puschase direct from ZG or through us (at what we currently believe to be a lower cost).

Edit here .............sorry thought it was my string the heading threw me Zero Gravity With Steak Knives thought it was mine.

This is the old pricing. If you click on the Suzuki link on the screens page as of right now, you go to the first of the new pricing. It has been worked on off line for the past week as time permits. The full updated screens section was going to be posted later this week as all the details are completed, though I will have it posted today in it's partially completed state.

This is incorrect by the way >>>>>>>>>> The other company can choose to sell at whatever price they wish, and to puschase direct from ZG or through us (at what we currently believe to be a lower cost).

The above para is very correct. We have made an offer of a price to the other dealer that is, we believe, below the current landed price dealers can achieve. They are fully able to purchase from ZG or us, we hold no grudges and advised ZG that we understood their history with the other dealer but that we would leave open the ability for the other dealer to purchase from us if they ever choose, and that they would be given the best dealer pricing available at the time. We have removed all ZG pricing offers from this forum and will not compete regardless of whether the other dealer chooses to sell at $90, $125 or $175.

This was communicated by us to ZG last week, so from our point of view any discussion about the ability of the other dealer to purchase from ZG was ended Friday morning of last week.

This whole thing has become too charged from our point of view and is doing nothing but generate ill feeling. I shall not comment further on this matter.

We will continue to offer 10% discount to any club memebers who wish to purchase any product from us at any time.

Hmmmmm,

this situation does not affect me in any personal way at all, but please allow me to offer a point of view from a prospective customers perspective.....

On this site, there are lots of vendors selling all sorts of products for busa's, as well as other different brands/models of bike.

As a potential customer, this puts myself, as well as every other member here, in a unique position to take advantage and save some $$$ from time to time!

BUT.........as a potential customer AND a keen forum member, if I need to purchase a particular product, and it is being offered on this site by fasterfaster (Pete's Pitstop) and virtually any other vendor......my hard-earned ca$h would be heading towards fasterfaster 99.9% EVERY TIME!!!!

WHY??????

The reasons are as many as they are varied, but I'd like to mention just a couple here, off the top of my head, that are extremely important to me, both as a potential customer AND as a fellow club member....

fasterfaster offers a massive amount of FREE invaluable expert advice on this forum, without any expectation of receiving any type of personal monetary gain whatsoever.....

fasterfaster has also been known to offer up products to be raffled off in charity raffles that have been organized by other forum members at various times in the past.....

In my whole time here on the AHC forum, I have noticed fasterfaster to show an incredible amount of HONESTY and INTEGRITY! As a potential customer, those two traits right there are just as, if not MORE important....than how cheaply I can possibly source a particular product!!!

BTW.......I should probably mention at this point that I have absolutely no affiliation with fasterfaster and/or Pete's Pitstop in any way whatsoever, apart from being a fellow AHC member. He is not a personal friend.....I've never even met Pete in person! But I do know that the next time I'm heading up north, I will be makin' a special trip to his shop, just to shake his hand and thank him for all the great free advice he has offered up countless times over the forum to myself....as well as MANY others!!!

Honesty, Integrity and great advice......It's #1 in my book!Pi_thumbsup

...juz my 2 cents worth....

Can't argue with that sentiment, though as a distributor in business since 2001 with some of the very best lines in the business (you don't get appointed to distribute them by being shonky) and on several occasions recommended to manufacturers seeking distribution by local magazine editors, I would hope that our honesty and integrity has never been in question.

We also give advice freely (though obviously our exposure on this forum is more limited).

Guess those members who have dealt with us know our business ethics and the quality of the products we offer.

Clap Well said Bazman!!!! Clap
And by some of us applauding Bazmans input, it shouldn't be interpreted that we don't appreciate AMCMO's offers to our members, it's just that Bazman has worded his response in a way that many of us couldn't (which is strange considering it's Bazman!).

I have no idea what this statement means, amcmo????

No, what I meant is we have been on the forum for a much shorter time therefore not as many people know us. Also our knowledge of things Hayabusa, apart form our own products and their installation is much less than some other memebers.

RE: Zero Gravity With Steak Knives - CeeJay07 - 15-09-2010

Probably meaning they haven't been on the forum as long as some others Bazman. I could be totally wrong though, have been once before. hahahaha.

Never doubted myself.....right again! woohooo!!!!

Not quite sure if that is the reason, CeeJay....

Knowing that fasterfaster lives, breathes, eats, sleeps and probably even sh*ts all things Hayabusa....I can understand & accept this response.....well, the second part, any way....

Thankyou for that clarification, amcmo.

RE: Zero Gravity With Steak Knives - BLACKZOOK - 15-09-2010

Well said Baz, Pete will always get my orders for exactly the reasons you mentioned Baz.

Having said that I cannot help but be impressed with the tone and civility of amcmo's responses. I will be contacting him to discuss any products Pete does not sell.
