Hayabusa Gearbox - the fixed model - Madmax - 06-09-2010

I have downloaded pictures of my fixed gearbox. The pictures show the positions of the gears when engaged.

It wouldn't let me post more than 6 images so I've deleted neutral.

A lot of riders have no idea of what makes their bikes motivate, so I thought I'd thrown the pictures of my gearbox up while it was apart to give those riders a bit better idea.

Cool aye!

Max
I've put the neutral picture in this frame. At least I hope I've picked the right picture. Any dissent?

I took it slowly, rang and took counsel from Pete and Leonard, ran a clock - took me nearly 30 hours but I had the week off duty to get it done. Learnt lots.

Thanks to Legend and Pete, two top wrenches who really know their Hayabusa shit. A good workshop manual helps too.Coolsmiley

The offending parts. Not too much wear on the cogs but the selector is screwed.

I'll put a couple more up in that case. Interesting job to do, that's why I recorded a lot of it.

Cheers

What he's not tellin Heidi is that it was 10 hours for the box and 20 hours to polish the bling when finished. Have a look under the bike .................... even his bloody parts tray is "blinged" along with the "chromed" chippies horse lol

That's awesome Max. Great photos!
(I still can't tell the difference between the gears though)

What if you put them in backwards and you have to ride everywhere in REVERSE!
