Another issue from your friendly Suzuki builder. I paid around $80.00 for a newby mate. Hope you work it out. I paid 12.5k for mine with 48k on the clock Somehow I don't think you'll stop at 1k, will you? Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway! Re: slave cylinder - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 14-01-2007 Bill that bike was a steel, you got a great deal on it. Griffo's got a lot of stuff on his plate and I don't think that bike was right on top of his list of things to do. If it is a bucket of POOH sell it for the 10G that you paid for it and buy a spanker. No more problems Regards Richard You're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. Looking at what's above. We all have a go at doing our own stuff up this way. Take the part to a clutch and brake mob get it resleaved and hey presto all done, clutch will work just fine.. Keeps the crap out and the seal should last longer. Later model busas have a rubber crap shield but the slave is 3mm smaller in diameter so it doesn't fit very well, i've tried. Re: Mystery/SOLVED - CAS3234 - 12-02-2007 Bill, if the clutch now feels like it is grabing and slipping it could be that you are used to the 2002 onwards clutch. Mine felt the same for ages I replaced it with the 2002 spring and thin fibre plate, now it is silky smooth. The dealer will hit you up for about $120 for it, but you might get one from a wrecker for half that. Re: Mystery/SOLVED - Xhiler8r - 12-02-2007 Thanks Dave that sounds like another option for me. It might be worth my while just to replace the clutch plates all together, as i havent opened them yet to see what they are like anyway.I might just throw a set of late models in there as long as they fit ok and Suzuki hasnt changed anything between the years. Cheers My Last 3 Rides -> 02-Busa, 06-M109R, 00-Busa Re: Mystery/SOLVED - BEAR - 12-02-2007 Get rid of the BTL assembly either by welding or buying the kit. Not expensive and makes all the difference to the clutch action. Smooth as. Interested too as I've put in the later model dust seal and noted it didn't really slip in all that tight, now I find the diameters are 3mm smaller on later models? Is the clutch master cylinder also smaller? If not the throw must be greater on the later models as well? Slightly higher hand effort but take up over a longer lever travel? |
