Finally got my 2010 busa - SLOW6 - 29-08-2010

Yup, I'm a proud, excited new owner of a busa! Here's some snaps of me being a douche on it... NO, I don't use that helmet and no the oil leak isn't from the bike!

Well done, enjoy!

RE: Finally got my 2010 busa - SLOW6 - 30-08-2010

First mods, fender eliminator, windshield, bar ends n levers and possibly 4-6 inch over... Only after I've had my fun as it is tho... Anyone in Perth got much exposure to swing arm extensions btw? There's a helping hand and a carton on offer :)
Oh, and I'm really unsure on the pipes, I wanted something with a hefty growl but I'm not keen to have it reflashed on dyno. I'd rather leave the tune as is for economy and reliability, I'm all for massive hp, but I'll be first to say, this bikes standard power will be enough for me. I'm taking it this usually means I'm limited to slip ons as full systems will always need a tune? Cheers.

Ps. Brocks perf alien head looks n must sound awesome but from what I've read, they need to be tuned too.... Any info would be great...

Slow6, I bought the Brocks Dual Alien Head slip-ons with the black ceramic coating.
They look friggin awesome, sound amazing and no re-tune required (although it is still worthwhile to have done)

see my thread. http://www.australian-hayabusa-club.com/MyBB/showthread.php?tid=14765

Hi Steve, the first mod most of us did on our new Gen 1s was to make the motor breath a little easier. The small airbox mod was getting nrid of the flapper valve, the large airbox mod was gutting the airbox to give massive increase to breathing. Not sure obout the Gen 2s mate and wethere they require that small or large airbox mod. There are plenty of operators who did the mods on their Gen 1s then went to Gen 2s to be able to give you the nod on wether this would suite the Gen 2.

In the end I went back to the standar airbox because I was getting great low down grunt out of it whereas I lost a heap of low down torque with the large airbox mod. As I commute more than any other riding I decided the low down grunt was king for me so went back to it.

Still got it.CoolsmileyCoolsmileyCoolsmiley

RE: Finally got my 2010 busa - fasterfaster - 31-08-2010

Stock or modded ........................ get it tuned and you will be rewarded with better fuel economy, crisp throttle response and smooth lineal power delivery thru the gears ........................ any Hp gain is just an added benefit but certianly not the prime motivation to have it set up. (Ride a bike thats been set up correctly and I can assure you it's chalk and cheese) Nice ride ya got enjoy it.

thanks Max, have spoken to Pete and the airbox mod is for gen 1's only as the gen 2 doesn't need it, cheers Steve.
