Brake Upgrade...a question for veteran Busa/motorcycle owners - Hutch99 - 15-08-2010

thinking about a braided line upgrade for the brakes

http://www.pashnit.com/product/galfer/galfer_gp_series.html#top

and was wondering if these would work???

I was thinking it pretty much works in the same way as the OEM(one line out of the Master cylinder -and then splits)

they dont have a Parts No for a Busa...which is probably a hint...

RE: Brake Upgrade...a question for veteran Busa/motorcycle owners - big kev - 15-08-2010

any upgrades to the stock rubber lines is good mate , im not oposed to going out side OZ to get parts mate but if you can afford it have a look at HEL brakes , there ADR spec lines and there a good upgrade ,

but in saying that i do loke the pashanit stuff as well mate

PS this is totally my opinion , theres been threads apon thread about this stuff and your going to have better or same answers that i can supply ,

cheers
BK

I got a set of the basic Galfer braided lines from BGW. They are awesome.

are still fairly new ,no improvement ,They are not a magic fix But your Originals will need replacing eventually,so you may as well go braided,as they
prevent moisture wicking through them & Will last longer . I Started with braided lines believing they alone would improve brake performance, they did'nt, After fitting Braketech cast rotors & Brembo master cylinder I am happy with my brakes ,but they could be better .This is my experience only I am not an expert or a vendor.Oh & If your talking to an expert & he Mentions FEEL you know he's bullshiting ,Brakes either work or DON'T .

Hutch, I'd be interested in a set of them myself.
Maybe an email through to Pashnit or Galfer is in order to try and find out if they'll fit a Busa.

I bought Goodridge lines out of UK.....what a difference! Mine are the same as OEM (one line form master cyl. and a link hose between calipers). Do it...you won't regret it.

yep, already been sent. just waiting for a reply...
...because mine is the one line out -to the right caliper, and splits(one over the front fender -to the left.)
i think later GenIs had two lines out of the Master Cylinder???

Hutch, if you go to the pashnit site & go into the Hayabusa Accessories you can find the part No's for the lines to suit your busa .

RE: Brake Upgrade...a question for veteran Busa/motorcycle owners - Hutch99 - 17-08-2010

reply email sent:

Hutch,

We do have stainless steel brake lines for your bike we have a two line kit
for the front or the standard O.E.M set up the part# for these kits are
FK003D223F and FK003D223R. but as for the 3line gp style we do not offer
this set up for your bike. Edward as for using a gsxr1000 brake lines I do
not recommend doing this do to each Galfer brake line kit are made for that
specific bike. We do make custom brake lines to accommodate your brake line
needs I have included a custom brake line sheet if you are interested you
will need to go threw www.cyclebrakes.com since we do not do retail.

...so on the cyclebrakes home page theres a link to 'custom line'
I can just copy the 'GP Series' style lines

RE: Brake Upgrade...a question for veteran Busa/motorcycle owners - BikerBoy - 18-08-2010

Thanks for the info Hutch.
I might look at doing a custom order in the future, but for now I'm undecided on if it's really worth it.
If you end up getting some lines done, let me know how it turns out.

RE: Brake Upgrade...a question for veteran Busa/motorcycle owners - BUSABAZZ - 25-08-2010

BTW guys and gals I just discovered the above mentioned lines are HEL lines, I have given more details in the "Busa bits on ebay" thread.

He also offered me a chance to make some money for myself, which since I only get under $500 a fortnight is very tempting indeed and would really help me and my mum a lot, (if you seen our house you'd understand, we need the help LOL) but I don't know how I would go about it?
Anyway I'm just happy to be able pay back my mum in dribs and drabs for now just to have great looking performance lines at a very cheap price.
