Changing Fork Oil - is there a simple way? - steventh - 14-08-2010

Folks,

Is their a way to change the fork oil without removing the forks, undoing the top caps etc?

I assume that putting new oil in requires removing the top caps and therefore the whole procedure in the service manual is required - if anyone knows of any "tricks" to do it a simple way (apart from simply paying others to do it) please let me know.

Thanks

Cheers

Steventh

best to take them out. its not that hard if you have a way of getting the front end off the ground

The simple way is to take it to a suspension specialist & Have it done by an expert. My bloke recons suspension systems should be serviced every 20,000km & All busas are under sprung even for a lightweight 80 kg bloke, so don't know how you big bloke's go . Quoted, $600 for front ,New springs ,revalve, new oil .Rear re spring,re gas,re valve, $300. I'm saving up .

Yeah, thanks Phil, those prices are from Peter at Hoey suspension& Includes seals .As I said before, Peter reckons all Busa's are under sprung even for a lightweight 80 kg bloke. He also reckons suspension
systems need servicing every 20,000 km, good for business I guess .
