race stands from kaneg - FONC - 07-05-2010
I have also bought some race stands from kaneg and recieved them today and have a few questions on the correct procedure for sitting the bike on the stands.how do you position the bike on the rear stand? can you do this on your own or does it require another pair of hands?how do you position the two prongs on the front stands in relation to the forks?.As you can see i am a novice at using race stands and terrified of dropping my 99 on its side so any advice or help will be greatly appreciated. regards fonc.

Hi Fonc. I find it easy to lift the back end with a race stand, but I've done it 1,000,000 times, so take it easy the first few times and get help supporting the bike while you do it.
The front prongs go directly under the forks after the rear stand is on. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll try to post photos of the steps...

Place a bit of 4x2 under the side stand to get bike standing up bit straighter first then put both prongs of stand over spools on bike and slowly lift , i stand on stand and pull back with grab rail on bike
but like pan i have done this heaps and your first few times might pay to have someone to help

Bloke if you are on your own then take off the hump or rear seat and hold onto the rear subframe cross rail when pushing down on the stand. Safer and easy on your own.

We met the kaneg bloke at the track. What a gentleman. I went to find him between sessions because he had some stands for Bruce. I tracked him down just as he was about to go out, but he wanted to stop and tell me how excited he was by the response from the club. He said he and his wife came on the site to see what was going on, and he said, 'we were like THIS!!' and mimed a HUGE grin. He was a sweetie, and came down a couple of times to admire all our bikes.

Lifting my bike up onto the stand is the main reason why I did the grab rail mod. It's soooooo much easier.

Got my Kaneg stands today. Very nice, work very well, and service and speed of delivery was outstanding. I would be happy to deal with this company again in future.

At the track on Sunday Ang had one of her Kaneg trye warmers burn out. We went up and saw Peter who was there riding his bike and showed him the damaged warmer and asked him for a price on a replacement. Ang had purchased the tyre warmer 2 years before so well outside warranty. Peter said leave it with me I'll get back to you. He rode his session and about an hour later showed up with a new updated digital model replacement tyre warmer for free.
Quality company and quality bloke.
