Hi to All - Folbzbusa - 19-04-2010
Hi to all members !!
Im Folbz, 29 years from S.A. I have decided to purchase a 09/10 busa in the next few months. I have been into Harleys for the last ten years, and have finally seen the light !! I would like to hear from anyone with a Busa of the same year, i've only ridden one once.
Am i making the right choice ??
What mods would you recommend ??
Are they comfortable for long trips ??
Stupid questions i know, but im new to sports bikes.

Welcome!!
As far as comfort goes, its really a suck it and see. What I find comfy, others wouldn't and vice versa.
For example I find my Gen 1 about as comfy as my early R1 I owned. I rode the R1 5500km in 6 days and got off feeling good every time. Rode my busa 2500km in 2 1/2 days feeling just as good. Size matters too.
Thats my 4.25 cents worth (after GST).

welcome to the family folbzbusa, i rode my 09 up to qld and back at the start of the year and did about 19 hours of riding on the trip home in one day and the only thing to complain about was my neck, wrist, and knees were sore because they were in the one position all day but like pete said, what one person finds comfy others might not, other than that they are a great bike over long distances and even great when you want to go out for a bit of fun on the weekends.

Thanks for that info mate, got a few big rides planned for the next few years, Adelaide to Cannbera then up to Mackay and Adelaide to Darwin.

G'day Folbz,
Yes, you will be making the right choice (you're asking a Busa rider). Of course, you won't be able to plough the fields on your new bike, and you'll have to get used to not cleaning up oil leaks, doing emergency repairs, call your mate with the ute / trailer etc
Mods - Get rid of the stock exhaust. As with anything Busa, there are heaps of after market accessories to choose from.
Comfortable - I think so, after you get used to the different riding style you will be stopping more for fuel than anything else.
Don't forget the pics when you get it

I'm guessin' you'll find the 'busa comfortable enough, as soon as you get used to the difference in the riding position that you're normally accustomed to!

yes the busa is comfy
ive spent most of my riding time on a vfr800 and they are pretty comfortable, the busa is even more so for me
mine has a gel seat which helps but i think any more than 600-700kms a day and i might want to put my airhawk on it
the busa is a superb sports tourer, perfect for long runs. its what mine will get used for.

After riding a 1000 K4 from new till November 2009 when I bought my Busa, I was kicking myself for not getting one back in 2004.
There smooth, heaps of grunt when you want it, and it can mix it with the best of them, comfort for me at times is an issue, but that's only after I've been riding my pushy to work for the week.
I think that once you have one you definately wont regret it.
