Hi to all.... - Folbzbusa - 19-04-2010 Hi to all members !! Im Folbz, 29 years from S.A. I have decided to purchase a 09/10 busa in the next few months. I have been into Harleys for the last ten years, and would like to hear from anyone with a Busa of the same year, i've only ridden one once. Am i making the right choice ?? What mods would you recommend ?? Are they comfortable for long trips ?? Stupid questions i know, but im new to sports bikes. Cheers guys, great site by the way ![]() RE: Hi to all.... - big kev - 19-04-2010 welcome mate . there is no stupid questions mate specialy about busa's . theres alot of gen 2 guys on here that will flood you with info . welcome aboard RE: Hi to all.... - simmo - 19-04-2010 ![]() ![]() RE: Hi to all.... - Axe - 19-04-2010 Modify nothing, keep it stock, or modify everything and smoke everything, either way you going to hay fun!!! I bought my k9 (white one) about 6 months ago and reckon its the best bike I've ever owned. I had a Triumph Sprint previously and that was a great bike too but the busa is in a class of its own. Secondly, you don't need to do anything to the busa however the list of potential mods is almost unlimited. It depends what you want - more speed? more comfort? touring gear? whatever, it us up to you. I took mine on my first long trip (that is if you regard Perth to Albany and back as a long trip). I fitted a Ventura rack and bag and a seat bag. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. Not once did I get off feeling any discomfort even after 2.5 hours straight in the saddle. I was on an airhawk cushion and had a gel seat. Cheers, I hope this encourages you. Busagen2 ![]() RE: Hi to all.... - Madmax - 20-04-2010 Hi and welcome to the club. You will end up smiling that hard your head will fall off into two parts! The Busa is more fun than canned piss. We have in the club all types of mod from simple to changing everything you can. The bike is like a Harley insofar as it is very blingable. One of the guys said "Now watch your licence. He wasn't joking!! Great decision. RE: Hi to all.... - FalcoPerigri - 20-04-2010 Hi Folbz, Although I've had other bikes before, I also came from a Cruiser (guess) and landed a K9 Black Hayabusa at the beginning of this year. First of all, your ENTIRE approach to your riding style will be different/altered. No longer will you think "what can I do to compensate for the weight of this bike around every corner...". The Busa will say to you..."is that all you got?" Consequently right wrist discipline will have to be very judicious to build up experience especially in the wet. No need to change to B/C modes in my estimation if you have a sensitive throttle control and common sense....which means, don' t go in the RAIN! You'll be TOTALLY transported into another UNIVERSE with the BUSA. When the tach gets past 6000 you better have the road to do it or else you might need to claim from this new Health Deal we just got! Back to the handling, unless you are used to 1 litre sport bikes, I can simply say that 0-300kph or anywhere inbetween can be described as "serene". Go and find your own little piece of magic... One thing I have done which might suit you is to fit Heli Bars, + foam grips. If your arms are very long, maybe you won't need the Heli version. I have found them to help quite a lot. (a little closer and a little higher). Foam grips definitely help with the vibes but you may not like the "feel". I like them as they are slightly bigger and this I think, allows me to grip less hard to relieve the strain. If you are a young man, then none of this applies perhaps...oh, you'll need a rear stand and some really good lube. You can check all this out on utube as well. Enjoy your machine! They don't come any better! FP RE: Hi to all.... - Troopmaster - 20-04-2010 Gday Folbz, good to see another Croweater here! (lets not mention the Crows at the moment please ![]() For me, its a Black K9 GenII, love her, 4>1 Brocks Full Titanium System, BMC Air Filter, PCV, X-TRE, Wideband Reciever, and Ohlins rear. As for comfort.....im 6'10" tall, so im not going to be riding to the Island on her, but a weekend up in the hills here in Adelaide has the thumbs up from me, power and torque a plenty!! Matt. RE: Hi to all.... - Countbusa - 20-04-2010 Welcome to the Club Folbz. It looks like you got hooked to the Hayabusa bug!
