A little while ago , travelling 5 min from hampton a roo and i had a dance , luckily the roo changed direction at the last minute otherwise it would have been good night irene. RE: Watch Out For Roos - BikerBoy - 10-04-2010 Fark, he's a lucky guy to keep the bike up and avoid injury. Hitting a Roo would be like hitting a wall. RE: Watch Out For Roos - jamesallan - 10-04-2010 Ceejay07, Go the lotto ticket champ you will walk away with a win. Can you put your ride technique into a barrell and say how you managed to stay upright ? ![]() RE: Watch Out For Roos - Countbusa - 10-04-2010 Tell your mate to fit some roo wistles to his bike! I have, after hitting a roo! ![]() RE: Watch Out For Roos - CeeJay07 - 11-04-2010 (10-04-2010, 11:07pm)Countbusa Wrote: Tell your mate to fit some roo wistles to his bike! I have, after hitting a roo! Can you post a pic of them fitted on your bike....if they can be mounted discreetly somewhere, I reckon they'd be worthwhile (i wrote my last bike off on the same road as my mate 5 months ago, about 4kms from where my mate hit the roo yesterday) RE: Watch Out For Roos - Bill Gaheer - 11-04-2010 Thank god for not falling off the bike after crashing with Roo Strange - I did almost 4200 km driving in a cage - didn't see a single Roo all the way from Perth till Sydney. Did drive till about 11.30 pm on day 1 and day 2 till about 8.pm RE: Watch Out For Roos - CeeJay07 - 11-04-2010 Forgot to mention the Falcon wagon that came around a right-hander on my side of the road with the bloody drivers door swinging open!! ![]() ![]() RE: Watch Out For Roos - VNSVLE - 11-04-2010 I know how your mate feels. Did the same thing about july last year. Parts and Labour in the vicinity of 7-8000 by the end. Stayed on as well. RE: Watch Out For Roos - Countbusa - 13-04-2010 CeeJay07, I'm having some difficulty uploading the pictures. The flash tutorial has a broken link! When I add an image to "add attachment" and preview the post,I get a red x surrounded by square. When I click on the red x,I get a default link saying "The specified thread does not exist". Do the images need resizing to under 500 kb? The largest image is 643 kb and smallest image is 445 kb.I've tried downloading the resizing tool from the link provided and the program doesn't seem to work? Or do the images need to be hosted off site? Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated! RE: Watch Out For Roos - Countbusa - 14-04-2010 CeeJay07 here are the pictures of the mounted roo whistles on the Gen 1 and Gen 2.Please note that the roo whistles on the Gen 1 cannot be mounted the same as on the Gen 2.The Gen 1 front guards are fatter than the Gen 2 front guards and there isn't enough airflow through the roo whistles to work properly! Let me know if you need more information. FIIK RE: Watch Out For Roos - scrubber - 14-04-2010 (14-04-2010, 07:37pm)simmo Wrote: Lucky boy I know how you feel I have had a few hit by the stupid things, yep thats right the whistles make them move so you can see them but they will hop any direction, roos are bad but Emus are worse they hit hard and then get tangled with the bike and the rider then you have no control whats so ever even worse they shit everywhere upon impact. Ride with a shot gun thats the best protection...... RE: Watch Out For Roos - CeeJay07 - 14-04-2010 Are you sure the shit you mentioned is from the emu??? I'm pretty sure if I hit/ came close to hitting an emu, it would be my bowels being emptied rapidly!!! RE: Watch Out For Roos - BLACKZOOK - 14-04-2010 Pretty sure that Choice Magazine did research on all of the roo deterent devices a few years back, both the whistles and the electronic gizmos. Do a search on the choice website. Pretty sure they dismissed all as ineffective and potentially dangerous, whistles did nothing at all and the electronic gizmo's got the roos spooked and running everywhere including in front of the vehicle. My memory is not great so check out the site for the report results. |
