RE: I need a head job - Legend - 07-04-2010

What are you looking for overall ??

Is this a full race motor or an upgrade?

I'd hazard a guess that your looking at 3-4k on that head for those mods.

Leonard.

i figured as much,
i have a wet nos system which i run on the track but engine has to be streetable when system is removed

basically I want to make the nos system a little more safer when we increase the nos jets which are currently running 60hp jets

bike is currently running fine touch wood but would like the same to ring true when we up the anti

thanks for your interest

oh by the way is this a job for local engineering firm or overseas

regards
Allan

Save your dollars and buy a turbo'd gen 2Coolsmiley alternatively you can contact Jamie at SR Pro for all the specific engine work !!!!!!

Save your dollars and buy a turbo'd gen 2

hey there mate with the laws of the land a turbo would attract way to much attention

The bike has to appear stock as a rock!!

I would hate to pour a heap of money into a turbo only to have it impounded

and as a daily ride its a matter of when i get pulled over, not if i get pulled over

as for upgrading to gen 2 i have been told i can put a gen 1 rear end on so a this may eventuate at some stage but for the moment my line of thinking is i have poured way to much money in into the gen 1 to start all over again so i focus on the what i have got rather then starting from scratch again

So you still want to go ahead?

I can quote something closer to the mark if you want, but it won't be far off the mark.

RE: I need a head job - GRUNTMAX - 09-04-2010

Have you got your own flow bench Leonard ?
I do not. Coolsmiley

Gen 1 ported intake This motor made 200rwhp stock bore.

STOCK GEN 2 Intake

If one cylinder is down on power, with CNC machining, they know it is not the porting and that takes a variable out of the equation---however----if your doing it by hand porting tools---just CC each port, then trim em all up to the highest port CC number.

Pity the Thai Head Polisher has gone on holidaysWm
This Busa was a 300 rwhp S & R Pro Intercooled Turbo.
Hardly a Pig Magnet due to the exhaust stack. After all, how could they complain, more volumetrcly efficient, more economical, low emmisions.
Unfortunately, it went to HeavenViolin & the rider went to hell. Not quite back yet thoughConfusedLol2

Police
Oh, forgot to mention, if your really worried about the pigsPolice emmisions standards & ya S & R Pro Turbo Busa, you could always get Jamie to bung one of these muthas inline in your exhaust stack system. Totally over the top 100% LEGAL. Fuc* Em !

RE: I need a head job - BLACKZOOK - 11-04-2010

i would expect the rods to be the limiting factor for future upgrades not the head. Bigger valves are a waste of time on yuor setup.

RE: I need a head job - GRUNTMAX - 11-04-2010

Bruce is correct, I reckon, as stuff all cc increase.
Stainless Stock Size Valves / FereaPi_thumbsup
Carpenter Valve SpringsPi_thumbsup
APE Retainers, Valve Guides & SealsPi_thumbsup
PortingPi_thumbsup

But like Bruce says, a hell of a lot of strain & sudden load on the stock conrods when you bung a bit of nitrous in.
Crower Conrods from NLR SystemsPi_thumbsup
Oh, if it is a Gen2 Head, you'll probably be right with ya stock titanium valvesCoolsmiley

RE: I need a head job - Legend - 11-04-2010

If it a Gen2 then the first thing to replace are the titanium valves.
