Gday fellas. since there seems to be so many smart iphone cookies in this club i figured id ask the question here. how do i set up my hotmail account to be used as my email account thingy for the iphone?? im retarded when it comes to this sort of stuff. eg i have no idea what the hell the difference between the IMAP and POP options are once you have put basic account info in. and like what i need to do for inoming and outgoing mail server thingies.

hotmail doesnt allow the iphone to access the pop server.
so long story short, unless you pay for your hotmail and ask to have it enabled your iphone cant get to hotmail thru the mail application.
you need to access it thru safari.
there may be a downloaded application specific for hotmail but im not aware of it.

its the only reason im with gmail now.
i changed over a year or so ago when i first got the iphone. there could be a way around it by now but i didnt keep up to date seing as i changed to gmail anyways.

I just spoke to an it mate of mine and he said it worked so he told me what to plugin for the mail servers and my live.com.au account now works perfectly on my iphone mail app so im happy now. maybe stuff changed recently as ive tried in the past and it hasnt worked so
