Nsw rego + ctp - [UNIT] - 12-12-2009
Hi
I'm wondering what will happen if I let my rego run out on my 08 busa, due next week.
I started a new job, paid monthly and started 2 weeks before the pay date. Because of the slow processing of paperwork I haven't been paid in almost 6 weeks.
I wouldn't mind waiting till January to register it but I don't want to have to get inspections etc because I let it run out?
What will I need to do to register it after a month out of rego?

in NSW if your vehicle runs out of rego for more than 3 mths you will need a blue slip but under 3 mths all you need is a normal pink slip.

So because it's a new bike I didn't need a pink slip for a few years? But if let it run out I'll need one?

im not entirly sure but i assume new bikes wouldnt need 1 as its brand new maybe ask your local dealer ??

Because it is still in the "no inspection required" stage, as long as it is less than 3 months since it expired you can just pay it. If it goes over 3 months it will need inspection.
Just don't get caught riding it if it's expired, it is so not worth it.

Thanks guys. Rang rta (forgot they would be open). As long as it's under 3 months it's sweet. Tho when u pay it it back dates. So I'm kinda wastin a months rego

As said before Andrew. Just don't ride it unregistered and get caught.
Fines are huge in that area. Newcastle HP cars have rego plate recognition cameras at their disposal.

Kev is correct, and yes u will lose 1months rego', no big deal. Otherwise, hand the plates in to cancel off the RTA then establish a new rego with the RTA with a blue slip. Losing a months rego is ur best & cheapest option and No u won't need a pink slip inspection for 3 years (M/C pink slip $18.80 per year. M/C Blue slip $31.20 and a lot of rootin' around.

The gf has forked out for almost everything :) but I won't push my luck and ask for $800 for the busa!

The RTA has extened the no inspection to 5 years now...
