Brocks Light Clutch Mod - MarkOz - 19-11-2009

Had been thinking of doing this mod for some time. I was fed up with the clutch grabbing, when taking off from a standing start, mainly at traffic lights. The hotter the motor the worse it got, even tried different oils.
I didnt want to weld the existing parts, so I contacted Shayne from Cyanide Racing, an he supplied the brocks SM13 ultra clutch mod. Thanks Shayne. I installed it last monday night and have now had a couple of days riding to assess the difference, taking into consideration the possibe worse commpression locking of the back wheel on down shifting. Well I havent noticed any worse commpression locking but I allways blip the motor on downshifting.
I am very pleased the clutch is not jerking or grabbing on take off now, my only regret is not doing this mod the first day I bought the bike.Coolsmiley

And don't forget fairings and electric start!

Back then we had a hand-crushing grip, overdeveloped right leg muscles (particularly if you rode british bikes) and necks like mallee bulls!

One of my first questions when customers ask about the Ultra Clutch Mod is whether they have ridden bikes with direct clutches before and what riding they intend to primarily do. Most are doing it for Drag Racing but I can see its place for riders use to the clutch feel of older bikes.

Glad it all worked out for you Mark and thank you for the mention!

This was not a review Legend. Really is just a bit of a winge about how a bike should be set up compared to how it was delivered.
Reminds me of the political correctness crap, that gets constantly rammed down our necks.

No regrets here Smitten
As I said before, it would be the first mod I would do, even before exhaust.
but the bike will tend to lock up on down shifting if you dont blip the throttle.

Hi Shayne, quick question, the ultralight billet clutch also requires the clutch cushion kit too doesn't it? Undecided
