Stand Mod Reminder - andcad - 10-11-2009 Hi Guys, just a reminder to all the new Busa owners out there to do the stand modification. havent seen any posts about it lately. Just done mine on the weekend before it was to late. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - John - 12-11-2009 Having bought my K9 busa but not able to pick it up for 58 days, what is this stand mod that's needed? RE: Stand Mod Reminder - [UNIT] - 13-11-2009 You grind a touch off the front of the stand where it hits the stop. It allows the stand to angle further forwards apposed to being almost perpendicular. I haven't done mine as I'm scared itl lean over too far being raised in the ass. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - TheShredder - 13-11-2009 Just remove the stand & grind a bit out it to allow it to kick forward a little more its a Must do or you'll kick yourself when she goes over RE: Stand Mod Reminder - big kev - 13-11-2009 will be doing that mod ASAP cheers andcad and shredder RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Louwai - 13-11-2009 I think it's a matter of being pro-active in how & where you park. I haven't done the stand mod. Have had the Busa for 4 yrs without a problem. 1) EVERY time I park I put the stand down & then kick it forward with my foot to make sure it's against the stop. Then with my foot against the stand I pull the ke backwards slightly to double check. 2) I NEVER park with the front pointing down hill. Not even the slightest. I always position the bike so that the front is pointing up hill OR park somewhere else. 3) I never park on grass, soft dirt or gravel where there is a possibility of the stand sinking. The only time that it will fall off the stand is when you whack it onto the stand quickly without thinking.... That's when it'll get you...... So the obviouse fix is...... Always think about what you're doing. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Leviathan - 13-11-2009 It's such a simple mod, cheap insurance IMO. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - John - 13-11-2009 Ok thanks guys... I'll be doing it when i get the big boy... RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Heidi1 - 13-11-2009 I agree with the mod with one caveat, if you are *ahem* vertically challenged, give it a miss. I'm tall for a woman, but I don't have long legs like some of the boys. I had the side stand mod done and couldn't lift the damn thing off the side stand without considerable difficulty if she was fully loaded or had a full tank. I went back to stock and park the way Louwai suggests. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Vellaterra - 13-11-2009 A great reminder. My bike slipped over the other week. Man was I pissed. I have found that the tension isn't like it was when new. I laid it down then picked it straight up, just a couple of minor scratches, just enough to piss me rite off. RE: Stand Mod Reminder - fasterfaster - 13-11-2009 Here you go Hiedi ................. a custom hayabusa bike getta ona and offerer for the vertically challenged [attachment=8003] RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Heidi1 - 13-11-2009 On my trip to Broken Hill (via Ayres Rock), I had a little square of wood. I carried that damn thing all over the country. Had to leave it somewhere near the Devils Marbles and then hunt for flat rocks, bits of bark and squashed cans every time I stopped on the side of the road. Next trip I'm taking a small square of wood with a bit of string attached. No more struggling to pull the bastard upright!! RE: Stand Mod Reminder - fasterfaster - 13-11-2009 Hiedi I just have to ask ............."why did you have to leave it " Was it miss behaving ............. or just did it's block so you left it behind RE: Stand Mod Reminder - Heidi1 - 13-11-2009 It's conversation became a bit 'wooden'. Couldn't bend down to pick it up. |
