Just bought a trackie (THANKS BRUCE) - Heidi1 - 23-08-2009

I just bought a trackie (or two). When I say 'I', I actually meant Bruce who not only found it, went and inspected it for me, talked me through the REVS check and picked them up and took them home. Technically, BRUCE now owns another trackie.

A little RGV250, it should be one hell of an adventure!

Wow, that's a great deal. Trailer + two RGV250s for around two grand.

Have fun on the track with that two stroke power :)

Whoa there big fell who had hold of the paper clip when it touched the battery terminal.

Bikes had just been listed on ebay by a seller who had just joined with no feedback rating which is always a worry. No one had bid but plenty of questions asked. The owner hates computers so got a mate to list the sale and he was very slow answering questions.

Took a chance and got his number, had a look today and the owner hates selling stuff and dealing with stupid people, I made him an offer with immediate payment and take the bikes and trailer now. He accepted, has t move house this week and just wants them gone. Revs check was clear so off we go.

Red bike has best running gear but is fitted wth insanely load expansin chambers. Fired first kick from cold but is misfiring and spewing fuel from the front cylinder. Pulled the plug and shone a torch into the cylinder all good. Compression test on both cylinders are the same so prolly carbs probs.

Black bike is rough but starts and runs nice. Took it for a ride with no helmet or gear and she rocketed forward on the power band, suspension brakes handling all good.

Trailer is a home made one but has been registered, nicely made but needs work.

Deal done and towed home without problem.

I think the best is to strip bot bikes and fit all of the best bits to the black one.

The best bodywork is on the red bike is the best and a big plus is the stickers of naked women on it.

We all know that chicks love stickers of naked women on their bikes dont we simmo.

Both bikes need heaps of work as does the trailer before they are ready for rego. I'll hook into them next weekend and hopefully get one bike and the trailer ready for rego

Congrats Heidi!!!

Watch out for failure on the power valve actuator. They have these micro-semiconductors called hall-effect sensors which track the open/close position using a magnet. I found out the hard way that they're not always the most reliable component.
