Servicing in the ACT - Davo66 - 22-07-2009

G'Day all,

I am new to this forum and as of last Friday new to owning and riding a 2008 Hayabusa, which is my first bike and I completely love it. I have been torturing myself for the past 5 years about getting a Busa and finally I can afford it.

I suppose I should introduce myself first. I am a 43 year old father of three. I am employed in the Australian Defence Force and am currently posted to Canberra. I have only just begun reading through the posts and threads on this website and look forward to gaining a lot of useful knowledge and interesting facts.

I would appreciate some advice regarding a reliable mechanic in the ACT to have my bike serviced at. It has done just under 19,000 Kms and I believe it was serviced by the previous owner at 18,000 Kms. I would still like to get it looked at for piece of mind. Any suggestions as to who I could go to?

Cheers

Davo66

Davo - Welcome to the club mate, the best advice i can give you is to catch up with the other busa owners on a Thursday night down at Zefferelli's in Dickson.

There is a thread in "Riding not talking" about the meetings, you can pm Madmax,Heidi1, or Busdriver and they will be more than happy to catch up.

Cheers John

Rick Miller is the only person who touches my bike (apart from Max, busdriver and Bruce), he is the best. He is the bike nazi, which is EXACTLY what you are after in a mechanic. He is in Holder, where are you based? We aren't catching up tomorrow, but will probably next Thursday, please come and join us, it would be great to see you. I'll send you a PM, but in case I don't, go to the 'riding not talking' thread and head for beer and bullshit in Canberra (or whatever it is we called that thread).

WELCOME.

HANG ON, you haven't happened to buy a low km black/orange from a big bloke who shed a tear when you rode off have you? You'd better bring that bike along, it wants to come play with its brothers and sisters.

Welcome Davo.

Hi Dave,
we can show you around the bike and give you ideas of the simple maintenance you can do in between the servicing.

Cheers

Trophy

Welcome to the club. I take my K8 to Canberra Motorcycle Centre at Fyshwick. They do a great job, are very professional and also supply a courtesy bike. I have taken my last two bikes (2003 ZX9R and 2004 ZX10R) there and have no problems. I ride from Wagga to get my bike serviced and they always make sure mine is first done so I can leave Canberra at a reasonable time.

That's what I was saying, that bike is family, it has been beautifully looked after. You have a lot to live up to! Bring it along to Zeffers.
