Hump mod kit - white09 - 08-07-2009 Hi guys, Just bought a hump mod kit off E-bay, they cost around $20 Aus delivered from the states and are a great way to use the space inside your beasts rear hump, basically you replace the 4 10ml bolts that hold the base of the hump with 4 wing nut quick release bolts. I'm using it for the tool kit and a puncture repair kit so i've got more space for things in the regular trunk. The kit took me around 20 minutes to fit and works great, the earlier 99-07's have a sealed base and don't need the extra piece of double sided taped masanite that came with mine (plus it costs less), you can also get some sponge for the inside of your hump to stop things moving around, i'll just use a tea towel around my things which I can then use to wipe my hands when whatever job i'm doing is completed. I have taken some pic's to show you the kit but if you log onto E-bay and look up (hump mod kit) it shows more detail and you will also be given a link to an instruction guide to help you once the kit arrives. I hope this hasn't been brought up before and just wanted to help you guys with a cheap way to gain some much needed space on your bike. RE: Hump mod kit - big kev - 08-07-2009 ive had mine for over 1 yr now an is a great idea i like alot RE: Hump mod kit - Busdriver - 08-07-2009 I just replaced the 10mm bolts with phillips head screws. Under the hump as part of my toolkit is the appropriately sized philips head driver to remove said screws. Works for me. Excellent idea! RE: Hump mod kit - white09 - 09-07-2009 The good thing about this kit is you use can use one hand to open the screws and they are retained on the base of the lid with washers so you can't loose the butterfly screws, + you can be holding onto the lid with your other hand so you don't risk scratching the duco of the lid.
